Friday, September 27, marks National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (#NGMHAAD) 2024. The awareness day was founded in 2008 by the now-defunct National Association for People with AIDS as a way to focus attention on the unique challenges of gay and bisexual men affected by HIV.
Although the annual rates of new HIV diagnoses among this population are decreasing, gay and bisexual men still account for most new cases, and African-American and Latino men are disproportionately affected.

“In 2022, over half of people living with HIV (58%) were men who have sex with men (MSM), and MSM accounted for 67% of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. Many MSM who were diagnosed with HIV in 2022 were in the Southern region of the U.S.”

Don't go sowing wild oats on Friday and Saturday nights and then show up in church Sunday morning praying to be blessed with a field of corn..
I'm reminded of the car thief on " bait car" getting locked in u til the police e arrive praying " God don't let this happen to me, God don't let this happen, God don't let this happen. " - you stole a car and now you want help from God?

The awareness day was founded in 2008 HIV / AIDS was very manageable by 2008. No need for an "awareness" day at that point. This day is all about the grift of keeping a crisis going and visible AFTER it no longer is a crisis.
