Kris was a Captain in the U.S. Army and was being reassigned to be a professor at West Point. He said, “No,” and quit the army. His father, a major general in the army, and his entire family, disowned him.
He was a brilliant scholar and gifted poet from a young age.
He walked away from that and was a janitor at Columbia Records recording studio in Nashville, for a while.
What would YOU give up to pursue your true calling?

That name sounds familiar. Jan Smithers. Wasn’t she on Mork & Mindy? Not my favorite type of show, but a safe for family comedy anyway.
Jan Smithers was on “WKRP in Cincinnati “. Pam Dawber (Mrs. Mark Harmon) was in “Mork and Mindy”.
She was Bailey Quarters on WKRP in Cincinnati.
What a lowlife move from his parents. Disown somebody because they don’t want to make a career out of the army? Especially after they have honorably served? His dad sounds like a selfish prick. Probably caused Kris a lot of pain
