Have you seen this?
Thanks this is something to look forward to!
Described as Knights of St John versus Ottoman Turks.
Better described as Christians versus Muslims.
I have never heard of the Siege of Malta. I will be looking forward to seeing the series.

Looking forward to it. If it is realistic, it will be glorious in the depiction of the Muslims.
Will definitely watch it. Visited Malta twice while on active duty with the USNR. Interesting place.
“Will you be watching Mel Gibson’s new television series?”
Oh, hell yes...
It’s about time that someone has given this epic battle the attention it deserves. This battle was the precursor to Ottoman expansion into the western Mediterranean. Malta was to be the launching point which never happened due to the Ottoman defeat coupled with their naval defeat at Lepanto in 1571.
I've long thought the Battle of Antioch (1098 A.D.) would make a fine film. After their victory over the Muslims, many Crusaders claimed that they saw angels and saints riding alongside them into battle.

To a 19-20 YO sailor from a Kansas farm, the historic sites of Malta were thoroughly enriching. Visiting the fort with its canons still guarding Valetta Harbor was an awesome experience. The Knights of St. John on Malta were truly heroic in their defense of the Faith.
Malta was one of my favorite liberty destinations.
Great!
The battles were insane. A more fictionalized version is “The Religion” by Tim Willocks.

Will be purchasing… thanks!
Well, crap. I have the screen rights to “Angels in Iron”-—at least I did until last year. I think I let them lapse.
I have a great script, and actually had Mel or Jon Voight pegged for the role of the elder Knight leading the defense.
I really, really wanted to produce this as a feature film, not a series.
It will be excellent.
They had two sieges in Malta history. Against Muslims back in the day, and against Nazis in World War 2. Citizen of Malta given George Cross by the King of England.
FYI...
