President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump do not drink. In a country where more than two-thirds of adults consume alcohol, that’s a surprising fact — not that there’s anything wrong with abstaining (and both Trump and Biden have their reasons).
However, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris not only counts herself in the majority of Americans who drink, but she apparently has good taste in wine.
According to a Washingtonian article published after Harris snagged the vice presidential nomination in 2020, the current VP enjoyed spending time at Cork Wine Bar in Washington, D.C. The venue tweeted a photo of Harris with the bar’s owners, taken during a holiday party that the current presidential candidate held for her staff in 2019.
Harris’s wine bonafides extend to her time serving as a U.S. senator from California, a top winemaking state, where she was a member of the Congressional Wine Caucus, a 117-member, bipartisan and bicameral group that “protect[s] the interests of our vibrant wine community from grape to glass.” As well, the VP was reportedly a member of Rock Wall Wine Co., an urban winery in Alameda, CA, before it closed in 2022.
“You know if you go to a foreign country and you know like six phrases or something? She’s well beyond that,” Cork Wine Bar co-owner Khalid Pitts told the Washingtonian. “She can talk about different varietals. She can talk about differences between California oak and French oak…. She knows what she likes and doesn’t like, and knows why she doesn’t like it.” According to Pitts, Harris likes California wines and has a “great appreciation for Old World wines.”

Time for the Trump campaign to start questioning her medical records.
Being able to drink a lot, fall on your back or knees, etc. is a plus for Arm Candy and professionals.
Friggin’ drunken prostitute.
Well, in THAT case...
If you were Harris would you drink? yes
"Functioning" is an undeserved compliment for her.
Uh, we know she drinks. We don’t need the writer to tell us she has good taste in wine. We do need to hear her say the word, Rehab.
Don’t care for the stuff myself, but in PA you can’t drive far without spotting a wine festival notice amid the autumn leaves. So I’ve had to learn, just to deal with the wine snobs of PA.
Now Harris, she spent much of her time in the San Francisco area, hardly an hour’s drive from Napa. Wine was probably on the CA bar exam.
Doesn’t make her a lush.
Nevertheless. She talks like a 2nd grade teacher and laughs like she’s competing with very loud music in the room. That’s your standard barfly.
“I don’t drink…wine.”
Yup. She knows she ain’t going to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave so why not be smashed all the time?
‘’functioning alcoholic’’.
Now there’s a contradiction in terms.
If xiden is a tea totaler now it is because Jill has hid the booze

I don’t care if she enjoys a drink now and then. BUT... do not show up on a tv show slurring your words and talking nonsense, while you’re supposed to be a candidate for the most powerful position on the planet. Maybe it wasn’t booze, but she had ingested something more powerful than a glass of wine, imho.
She reminds me of a long term pothead.
Gummie. No telling “smoke” scent.
I know a few potheads who are fairly well stoned most of the time. They don’t slur their words, but they do talk nonsense.
I’m not thinking pot, although she dated Montel Williams who smoked every day for years due to his MS, so I’m sure she’s had a toke or two with him. Montel did not slur his words and he did switch to gummies from smoking. I think something stronger than pot. Booze and pills are my bet.
Did you know there are such things as shroom gummies now?
I wouldn’t doubt it. Never did shrooms. A friend once offered me some, but because he said it might make me nauseous for a little while at first, so I declined. I did do quite a bit of other stuff during the 60’s and early 70’s though. LSD a couple times, don’t recommend it.
