After the bombshell indictment of Eric Adams by a federal grand jury, New York City’s powerful business community is scrambling to figure out how to deal with the real possibility of a socialist taking over City Hall.
Business titans are said to be terrified at the prospect of Jumaane Williams, the left-wing, anti-cop Public Advocate running the city if Adams is either forced to resign or removed by Gov. Kathy Hochul amid the corruption scandal that has engulfed his mayoralty.
“This is scary stuff,” one top business leader told the Post.
As the prospect grows, The Post has learned that Kathryn Wylde, president of the Partnership for New York, has reached out to Williams to set up a meeting to discuss what he will face if he becomes mayor.
“The partnership wants to help out, that’s what it does,” said one person with knowledge of the matter.
The conversation will likely include “what’s at stake if he blows up the city government, all the projects that stand in the balance, roads, bridges, jobs and the police that demand a functioning city government, not some crazy alternative,” this person added,
Wylde declined to provide a comment. Williams didn’t reply to an email for comment.
Adams was elected in 2020 vowing to return order to a city that was ravaged by crime and businesses fleeing the Big Apple for lower tax states such as Florida.
He had strong support from the business community and people at the Partnership believe he mostly delivered on his promises for a pro business and public safety agenda despite the burgeoning corruption scandal.

It's not like it wasn't known that the Public Advocate was next in line after the Mayor.
It's long been a place where if you want to do business, you must grease the palms of politicians, licensing departments, regulatory agencies, and city inspectors (health, safety, building code, etc.).
It's just that amount demanded in payoffs, kickbacks, and bribes is getting out of hand.
Jumaane D. Williams is the Public Advocate of the City of New York and past city council member. How in hell is he the next in line to be the NYC mayor? Seems to me the Marxist fix is in. New Yorkers are idiots to let this happen. They deserve all the consequences
He’s more of a socialist than Eric The Red?
Whenever democrats throw one of their own under the bus, they always have someone worse waiting in the wings to replace them.
Since 1990, both the white and black populations of New York City have declined in both raw numbers and percentage of the population. Hispanics outnumber blacks by 28% to 20%, with Asians not too far behind at 16%. These numbers are as of 2020; the COVID and crime related exodus has probably reduced the white population below the 31% figure from the 2020 Census. In other cities, such as Los Angeles, the Hispanics have more or less pushed the blacks out of many neighborhoods, even Watts. As major cities become more yellow and brown, the politics will change.
Probably be no difference ,LOL
this is a familiar pattern
force someone out to install a commie
benedict/francis
biden/harris
they voted for it
No shat ... they’re getting exactly what they voted for.
Embrace the suck, as Nasty has said.
Color revolution.
Really! What was DeBlasio?
He is required by law to have an election for a new mayor within 90 days.
“Hard to feel sorry for the people of NY. Make stupid choices, get stupid rewards.”
And that’s about all there is to it.
“NYC has been “socialist” for nearly a century. Maybe longer.”
Now it is becoming Marxist.
“Growing reality” my left clavicle - you had DeBlasio already, and the current guy is not exactly Rudy G. Looks to me like socialism is the status quo.
Funny that the Commie DOJ is going after one of their own.
