So no “Cradle of Filth”?
I was at a reception playing “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights”. My date and I walked out.
My off list is different ... no “Electric Slide” and never never never “The Chicken Dance”.
Ironically, my sister was in a band that did that kinda stuff.
I wanted “several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict”. But my fiance vetoed it.
Can you dance to meatloaf?
White Wedding — Billy Idol!
What’s funny is that probably up to a few years ago, hardly anyone in the US had even heard Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”.
They probably figured at the time the song was “too gay” for American audiences.
See ... these are things you don’t have to worry about if you’re Baptist. Big decision is “O Promise Me” vs “I Love You Truly” for the soloist.
Here are a couple of my wedding favorites:
-Lying eyes: Eagles
-Cold as ice: Foreigner
-Walk on the wild side: Lou Reed
And last but not least...
-I’m not in love: 10cc
I’m surprised that “White Punks on Dope” by The Tubes wasn’t on the banned list.
Wonderfully funny thread.
That will make for an interesting reception.
Thanks.
Yes, we were both sappy and sentimental.
I know someone who had a live band (17 pieces), before the wedding, I thought it was a waste of money, but it was great.
This old song is a fun one to do a group dance to:

Also appropriate for a wedding celebration.
Love Stinks by J Geils Band.
My daughter is getting married in a couple weeks. She asked guests to send her playlist suggestions.
I happen to enjoy 70’s soul. She got lots of ideas. I won’t be too upset if not many get played.
Someone in my family was serving in the Navy. He snuck home (8 hours away) the weekend before the wedding. He was not scheduled for duty over the weekend but he was UA. The father of the bride (my uncle) had to pull some strings with his congressman’s office to get his future son-in-law released from base restriction to be allowed to come to his own wedding.
The DJ ban list included, In the Navy and Jailhouse Rock.which were repeatedly requested.
