Elon Musk’s X will now comply with court demands in Brazil so it can resume operations in the country and potentially end its feud with a powerful judge over free speech, far-right accounts and misinformation.

At first, X had warned it would not comply with the “illegal” orders, but its lawyers have now said the platform will pay the fines it owes and that it has also started to block the accounts in question.
It was not immediately clear which were the accounts X has been ordered to block, as the probe is confidential.

Next the Communist Dimocrats will insist in new rules for X here. I don’t use it, but free speech is under attack in this Republic and if Harris “wins” the election and the Commies get control of the House & retain the Senate, I fear for the Supreme Court, the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They will seek for so many changes that they can change the law of the land with a few court decisions from their new SC and trashing of the BofR and Constitution. Our very freedoms are in severe jeopardy if the commies “win”. I am in my 70s and in the lighttight of my life, but my kids and grands all have to keep living in this new utopia the commies have planned for Amerika. Probably even a name change of the country.
I guess the money is to good for musk to stop doing any business with these countries?
Cause if other countries get away with this is just a matter time before our own government is doing this. They are already trying to get away with it.

X has to comply with Brazilian law in Brazil, but they better not make Brazilian censorship law apply across all the rest of the world.
We need an American law which makes it illegal for any American company to censor speech outside of specific countries that demand specific speech be censored.
It must be illegal to censor speech in the United States. (For large platforms.)

The trade status of nations that censor free speech should be at risk. Unfortunately, too many politicians love the gravy train of international trade kickbacks.
