Appropos of nothing, I commented that I am not impressed with either Chipotle or Qdoba. You’d think I’d stepped on a hundred toes at once.
I think it is fast food trying to be like good food. It’s not. If I want good Mexican, I’ll go to a good Mexican restaurant. If I want fast food, I’ll save my money and go to Taco Bell. Did I compare Chipotle to Taco Bell? No! I compared it to real Mexican food. It does not compare.

Have to agree with you.
Chipotle is not that good for the price.
Taco Bell is not that good but it is cheap (comparatively).
But for good and cheaper then Chipotle (but more expensive then Taco Bell) I will go to my local Mexican place.
