Simply because shots were fired, Florida probably has some constitutional justification (imo) to investigate incident under the Constitution's Article IV, Section 4 (4.4) in the context of domestic violence. Likewise for previous assassination attempt.

"Article IV, Section 4 (4.4): The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence [emphases added]."

Other than Supreme Court ultimately stopping a state investigation, I'm not familiar with any federal law reasonably based on an express constitutional power that would give the feds the power to order a state to stop such an investigation. Insights welcome.

In fact, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and 18 U.S. Code § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law allows for both state and federal actors to be criminal suspects imo.

"14th Amendment, Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. Next, since Congress and renegade states have repeatedly proven that they are enemies of the people imo, it is now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL (exceptions?) state and federal lawmakers and executives in November.

In fact, it's up to us Trump supporters to take the first MAJOR step in draining the swamp by supporting hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, new state lawmakers too, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.
