Candice Bergen got her claws out at the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The actress, 78, took the Emmys stage to present the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, a honor she won five times for her portrayal of hard-nosed “FYI” news broadcaster Murphy Brown on the TV series of the same name.
Before handing out the trophy, Bergen took a swipe at Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance while alluding to one of the most famous moments from “Murphy Brown.”

She was also in the movie called "The Group" around the same time(1966) where Larry Hagman called her "sapphho"(i.e lesbian).
You know you are in the right place if you are across the fence from Hollyweirdos.
If you read the Quayle speech it was an excellent one, and it wasn’t about Murphy Brown, the media killed the speech with that fake story.

On page 3 of that speech link you can see the mention of Murphy Brown—”””It doesn’t help matters when prime time TV has Murphy Brown - a character who supposedly epitomizes today’s intelligent, highly paid, professional woman - mocking the importance of fathers, by bearing a child alone, and calling it just another “lifestyle choice.”””
That was how the media killed and rewrote perhaps his best speech ever about fixing America’s values problem.
The 90s are calling and they want their television back.
She’s just another Hollywood cougar.
At least Pete Bootyjudge can still get into his prom dress.
“American values”. I recall reading some article about Bergen - probably about that time way back when. She said one of her goals was to have three men in her all at once. Eww.
Why is she impersonating an oil barrel?
One of the sick Hollywood kids that associated with Manson.
Yeah, that’s him. That’s who I was thinking he was.
That is a simple goal for an attractive girl to meet within minutes, she was lying.
**I liked her in the Sand Pebbles—sweet and innocent.**
Beautiful-19 years old. Steve McQueen was inn’s mid 30’s.
**Never heard of the movie “The Sand Pebbles”, looked it up and the movie had 8 Oscar nominations.**
Memorable. You must be young. The book is 600 pages.
She was quite pretty as a youngster, and I doubt if she was political at all. And I don’t think back then she had any real good roles, at least I never liked her acting ability back then.
Fast forward to today and she’s severely over weight and a left wing hack. And probably still can’t act.
“The Sand Pebbles” is my all-time favorite movie. Steve McQueen and his BAR from this movie (along with Kirby and his BAR from “Combat”) led me to volunteer to carry the M60 machinegun during my two years in the mech infantry.
“Murphy Brown.” I have never watched that show or the one with Bruce Willis.
Didn’t W.C. Fields try to throttle Charlie McCarthy at one time?
The classic goodbye scene where she waved goodbye at McQueen from her old boat while Holman(McQueen) was above in his gunboat. She earlier asked him to come with her. Man I would have! He did in the end but he died.
“Candice Bergen takes jab at Trump’s running mate JD Vance at Emmys 2024:
Take a jab at this Candy.
Dried up old used-to-be-somebody living her comfy, insulated, privileged lifestyle, can’t resist chiming in.
