They rushed to Ukraine by the thousands, many of them Americans who promised to bring military experience, money or supplies to the battleground of a righteous war. Hometown newspapers hailed their commitment, and donors backed them with millions of dollars.
With Legion growth stalling, Ryan Routh, a former construction worker from Greensboro, N.C., is seeking recruits from among Afghan soldiers who fled the Taliban. Mr. Routh, who spent several months in Ukraine last year, said he planned to move them, in some cases illegally, from Pakistan and Iran to Ukraine. He said dozens had expressed interest
We can probably purchase some passports through Pakistan, since it’s such a corrupt country,” he said in an interview from Washington.
It is not clear whether he has succeeded, but one former Afghan soldier said he had been contacted and was interested in fighting if it meant leaving Iran, where he was living illegally.

Yeah.
He seems like a con man, but attempted assassination is beyond that.
He’s in custody.
The question is how long until he’s reported dead...
I looked it up.
Police (sheriff) caught him.
Not feds.
He’s turned over to feds now.
Remember the Ukranian Vindman brothers who were both in the US Army — why didn’t these tow heroes of the Left go to fight for Ukrain. Maybe both are all talk and nothing but cowards.
2 outta 3 ain’t bad.
Looks like these guys were fakers, claiming to be mercs going to fight for Ukraine but not actually doing anything useful...just taking the money.
Routh was brought up by Newsweek in the same article as this Vasquez guy.

The story of Vasquez joining the Ukrainian Army turned out to be fake. In 2022, Newsweek ran a glowing story about an American man who claimed to be a volunteer fighting with the Ukrainian Army. Vasquez claimed in March 2022. that he’d “taken out 7 Russian tanks.”
Former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger advocated for Vasquez, urging Twitter to verify his account, and posed in pictures with him....”
Some of the anti-Trump figures highlighted for the counter-summit include George Conway, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Bill Kristol, failed Trump challenger Asa Hutchinson, and former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, the last of whom voted to impeach Trump.
Notably, participating organizations for this event include the American Coalition for Ukraine, The Dispatch, The Trinity Forum, and the Purple Principle.

He seems to be associated with a larger group of fraudsters.
There is the group Vasquez and Kinzinger was affiliated with, “Ripleys Heroes,” supposedly under investigation. Which may just be to insure that nothing gets revealed because “the case is under investigation.”
I hope they are looking at the guy who claimed to be a witness. Could be involved as well.
Good question.
Did he get assassin training in Ukraine?
Let’s see what the Florida State Investigation turns up before you make your definitive know it all statements.
You want posting on this topic and speculation shutdown on freerepublic until the investigation is over?
Don’t tell me, tell mgmt, but I don’t think they will comply with that crazy idea, but you can avoid the threads, just look at the titles.
An imaginary army of mercenaries- the earlier one associated with Vasquez turned out fake.
I don’t have to avoid anything.
Your speculation is just that at this point.
Not fact, no matter how smart you think you are.
Ukraine is the most corrupt country in the world. Bet there are lots of CIA contacts there.
