Disappointing Systems in Ukraine - From imprecise precision munitions to explosive IFVs

We've spent a lot of time in the past talking about systems that have been called 'game changers' or arguably over performed in Ukraine, relative to either expectations, costs, or both.

Today, we look at some of the opposite - systems that may not be having the expected impact, and which might prompt some thinking in planners observing the Ukrainian experience.

All the game changers have been complete flops and the list is pretty long. The operator has a lot to do with the performance of weapons. Russia continues to grind down Ukrainian troop numbers. Those fancy missiles being talked about now are good but there’s not enough of them to make any lasting difference.

The boys that run the gas station in Russia are too smart for the US. Nothing we got works for more that a few weeks when they figure out how to defeat those systems. It would take us months or years to do what they do, mainly because the corruption dictates that everyone has to get their pockets lined with money first just to get the ball rolling. That puts us permanently behind every step of the way.

I agree that the Russians are able to adapt FAR FASTER than the US, but to be fair, Russia doesn’t spend much time trying to figure out how to ‘transition’ their kids, but rather EDUCATES THEM, so they obviously have a CLEAR ADVANTAGE over the US.
