Bennet Omalu, the neuropathologist who has been credited with finding chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in ex-football players, is once again calling on Tua Tagovailoa to step away from the game.
Omalu told TMZ Sports that the Dolphins quarterback, who suffered his third known concussion on “Thursday Night Football” against the Bills this week, could become “permanently incapacitated” if he does any more damage to his brain.
The doctor, who was portrayed by Will Smith in the 2015 film “Concussion” on his life and work, urged Tagovailoa to retire from the NFL for the second time in less than two years.

You mean the Arizona Cardinals.
Anybody else think this is....odd?
Damar Hamlin doesn’t have to retire, but Tua should?
Okaaaaay...
Vaccine? The clotshot time frames overlap. I’ve been wondering if the shots have created a soft spot such that a pretty minor hit can fuzz him up. That hit Thursday night wasn’t much of a hit as football tackles go. If anything he looked more like he got a neck stinger, from what I saw.
Money shouldn’t be an issue. He already has plenty unless he wants to buy Miami?
Your neck, heart, triceps, biceps....aint your brain :)
Yes, it’s horrific to think of becoming paralyzed at a young age from a neck injury.
It’s worse to scream and yell all day and not make any sense and have no rational though ever again...like we’ve all seen in dementia or other neurodegenerative diseases.
People keep making comparisons to other players who had something else injured multiple times.
Can’t buy new brain cells :) The body doesn’t make them....oh, science has found that the hypothalamus area may produce a few thousand a year....doesn’t help much when 100s of millions are lost.
have a good one
That wasn’t a particularly hard hit at all.
I wasn’t sure why he was down....I thought he’s hurt his leg.
It wasn’t helmet to helmet.
He had the “fencing response” again.
that’s the second time.
For a relatively normal tackle.
He wasn’t slammed to the ground and like I said, it wasn’t helmet on helmet.
He is not made for the game...he is very light for a football player...and at this point it seems even a lesser impactful hti to the brain can have staggering consequences.
If he’s too young and stubborn to retire, he should be forced to.
Someone wants to take the chance of walking with a limp the rest of their lives after too many leg injuries...that’s their business
Someone want to potentially not recognize their kids by 50, that’s the league’s business.
What if Tagovailoa didn’t really have a concussion?
Could this be more about making Damar Hamlin look healthy?
And trade worthy...
I agree. He needs to walk away.
I think Nick Saban needs to sit down with him and tell him.
It’s Tua’s life and Tua’s decision. But IMH and unmedical opinion, yes, he should retire.
He shot his hands straight and clenched in what is known as th fencing response....that pretty much nails a concussion...and a bad one.
Hamlin took that hit like a trooper...I think his crazy incident was a one off kind of thing...nothing was made permanently weaker or damaged.
Though in today’s NFL, I wouldn’t completely put your idea to rest.
