Okay Free Republic has been the best place for libertarian and conservative ideas for decades. And truly my place to post and view comments.
X is more evolved and many also love that forum. Any suggestions that could keep FR relevant. It seems it will be a 'dinosaur' of the 90's if nothing changes.
To be clear - FR is truly the best website. Simply stating it may be gone soon - 'can't fence time and change'.
I remember the Free Republic upgrades.

The only bots and scammers I see on X were in the comments farther down. FR misses out on a lot of stories. If they do catch it, It’s a few days old. It’s always the same people posting. I blame the pain of the posting process. I would love to post stories, but I don’t like going through it.
We’re all mostly 25 years older now
The younger posters didn’t continue our membership bubble
We’ve had die offs and drop outs
And yes a tsunami of alternatives
Still those who post here come here first but likely have other sites to purvey they lacked 25 years ago

Funny. I think the same about the antivax kooks who worked tirelessly to saturate the site with their ignorance. The Daily Expose as the font of medical knowledge. That worked great on those who know nothing about cell biology and protein synthesis and junk like that.
You’d almost think that they were being paid by people who want conservatives to be stupid and addicted to conspiracy nuttism, like the Q fantasy. Whatever happend to Q anyway? Are we awaiting his Second Coming?
See if you can guess which side of the vaccine issue Trump falls on. Take all the time that you need to come up with the answer.

Excellent, agree. There are minor features that might be nice, e.g. giving a “like” to a post or being able to start a threat on a comment or some such, but the fact that this site feels much as it did back when it took Dan Rather down... that look and feel should never be changed.

Would be more accurate if the covid injections were actually vaccines. If you’re jabbed, you’re GMO like ergot resistant sorghum, or insect resistant corn.

It does seem to be taking longer and longer for the pledge drives to complete.
Maybe if the owners published the stats in graphical form such as number of articles, comments, viewers over time we can see what the trend is.

It used to be fun to see pictures of family but no one dares to post any pics of children (especially). I use it only to post political articles but I doubt many see them.
Marketplace can be interesting. And some of the groups are helpful.
It’s a little weird that this site does not seem to attract communist trolls like they have on the other platforms. I think that the members on this site are pretty harsh and won’t tolerate a troll. And the moderators know the difference. Those trolls do not have the leverage on this site because it’s member supported. I don’t have much money but I donate a little at least. The communist socialist justice warrior can’t execute their lawfare against this forum because there’s no advertisers to target.
The moral of this story is... donate.
