Gotta laugh at the notion of “after hours trading” in Bitcoin. Ain’t no such thing.
Bitcoin has limited trading hours?
Oh… so the 2020 election cheats are now in prison and we can look forward to a fair and honest 2024 election???
Man… that is great news!!!
What are you talking about? This is about Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has limited trading hours?
yes you can only trade it 24 hours per day
I am sure the new Wall Street Bitcoin ETF’s do, otherwise you can “trade”/spend/buy Bitcoin 24/7/365.
CNBC quotes come from the Bitcoin/USD Coin Metrics market.
Does that trade 24/7?
I do not really pay attention on weekends, or over night, because the trading volume is too thin.
What happens to Bitcoin if our power grid goes out?
Things that trade based on BTC do have limed trading. I trade MSTR options. I had some I sold yesterday because I wanted to book my profit instead of seeing it disappear on Friday Economic news. So, I missed the run today.
This also happens to me a lot with TSLA options. I book my profit and then next day it jumps 10.
Trading both can make a person nervous.
What happens to your bank account 401k and IRA if the grid goes down?
And FYI I own some Btc and Gold Silver and lead….
Bitcoin and precious metals like all currency is irrelevant in a societal meltdown. A can of beans will be worth more than a brick of gold.
“Too the moon, Alice!”
Yet the markets keep going up, too. At least until queen commie-la is crowned.
As mentioned previously the same thing that happens to your bank accounts, pensions, 401K, VISA CC, etc.. Only Bitcoin is better than those in that when a few Bitcoin "nodes" come back online with a generator/solar, etc. Bitcoin transactions can resume. Many thousands of nodes...each one have a complete record of all Bitcoin transactions since 2009...I am running a node at my house....I have got you covered! ;-)
BTW: if your 2nd Q is "what if the Internet goes down"...the Bitcoin network has been established on HAM radio and satellite.
While the power grid is out, gold/silver remain gold/silver. Same for ICE automobiles.
When (not if) the grid power comes back, gold/silver remain gold/silver. Same for ICE automobiles.
When (not if) the grid power comes back, IRA/401k/Roth/stocks/bonds/BTC may come back. Any one or more may not come back.
Now, replace “grid power” with “SWIFT/FIAT/FED/IRS/Income-taxes”...
Post apocalypse will your local warload accept bitcoin as payment?
Think about it.
Then cash out and buy rice and beans and alcohol, tobacco and firearms.
Agreed for post-apocalypse.
For something short of that, where there is a controlled-demolition of FIAT/FED, add some gold/silver. Gold for wealth-protection. Silver for transition purchasing power.
