In that situation, the parent should be allowed the opportunity to shoot the animal.

What’s with the “them” and “their” pronouns? And how come it’s OK that they assumed the otter’s species?
To: DFG
Thank goodness, the Mom was both watching and within an arms’ reach of her child. Most likely, the whole family was traumatized. Maybe, maybe the kid will joke about it later.
I have heard of Kangaroos doing the same thing to both dogs and adult sized people.
To: Blennos
Either that or the Tacoma News Tribune is presuming “pronouns”.

Due to the “child’s resiliency.”
Is the child also sustainable and carbon neutral?

Singular “they”
“They” and its inflected forms, “them”, “their”, “theirs”, and “themselves”, are gender-neutral third-person pronouns. They are often used when referring to a person who does not identify with a gender-specific pronoun. For example, when referring to “a reader” in a paper, one is not specifically referring to a woman, man, or someone of another gender.

The reporter is a woman. I’m of the impression that more women worry about speaking and writing in a PC manner than most men.
