That’s making coffee without coffee.
Old joke: Make your own water; just add instant coffee
Non-coffee coffee goes will with impossible burgers.
I’m old enough to remember when coffee companies promoted blends with chicory as a cheap alternative
The real secret behind the civet poo coffee is nobody likes it. They only buy it because it is expensive.
OMG !!! It’s the end of the World. Do they still make coffee substitute chicory didn’t Hitler invent that ? LOL
This is leftist “coffee”—just like leftists trying to get us to eat insects!

No, that’s pretending to make coffee from something thats not coffee. It’s called making your own reality. Well let them have it I’ll stick with the real thing, coffee.
Next they’ll say it’s good for the environment but in reality it takes 100 times more to put together ,LOL
Remember Chock Full O’ Nuts? Chicory. It wasn’t too bad once you got used to it.
Postum - a southern coffee substitute - a left-over from Civil War days when the south didn’t have coffee and the north didn’t have tobacco. In between battles the soldiers would trade the two items between them.
During the Great Depression roasted chicory root was used as a coffee substitute.
If it comes outta something’s arse I ain’t havin’ it!

But from what I read, southerners did get creative making substitutes for coffee. Here is a quote from an NPR link:
“Desperate Confederate soldiers would invent makeshift coffees, Grinspan tells us, roasting rye, rice, sweet potatoes or beets until they were dark, chocolaty and caramelized. The resulting brew contained no caffeine, but at least it was something warm and brown and consoling.”
Coffee is coffee. This article is about a dark-colored beverage made from various non-coffee ingredients. If someone wants that, fine, but it’s not coffee.
Atomo “coffee” is like soy “milk”.
