For once I agree with you but I will go a bit further. Using these missiles will do great damage and as you say spark Putin’s major retaliation, but I think Zelensky is counting on Putin going a bridge too far and striking bases in Poland or the Baltics that may or may not be actively backing the Ukies and
causing many NATO casualties. Then Z hopes those losses will propel NATO into the war. Then he hopes Putin bavcks down in the face of NATO’s response and backs out of Ukraine. I think Putin might go in a different direction
