I play mainly acoustic, finger picking and blues styles. I find that sometimes I need to cut through the mix a little more. Best electric? Go.
Gibson Les Paul... I just picked up a Hagstrom hollow body which I like a lot, plays great.
Had a twin reverb years ago then the Fender Bandmaster. Now I’ve got a Marshal JCM 2000 DSL 100 with a Lead 900 1960 cabinet... I get yelled at it I hit 2 in sound room in the basement 🤣🤣🤣
Tough one, But imho a Gibson sounds the best for blues, although a Telecaster is hard to beat also. Larry Carlton (Mr. E335) is one of my favorite players, rock, jazz blues.
i’ve enjoyed playing a friends T5z, particularly enjoy the wide variety of voicings. Found a used one for a good price at a shop about an hour from me, heading there today to check it out. I’m a Taylor guy anyway.
You have multiple things going on.. Versatile guitar and then cutting through mix.

I would suggest a Strat. Then pretty much everythign else.
That is going to give you the most tone options. Looks wise it will fit in with whatever type of music/ band you are in.
I have been buying, selling and playing guitars since the 80s. The stuff the Fender is pumping out from Mexico are cheaper and superior than most anything Fender has ever put out.
2. Cut through the mix.. that is 100% on YOU. 3 people playing the same chords, in the same position/ voicing, is ALWAYS a disaster.
My G&L ASAT “Tele” is pretty awesome, but I’m a beginner, so what do I know?
Fender Strat from the custom shop and Gibson Les Paul Classic. Hard to go wrong with either one. So many guns and guitars I want, but so little money!
Like others have said, Fender Strat or Tele are great options
You might like one of those Gibson hollow bodies, the semi-acoustics, like an ES-335. Amplified but still has a bit of the feel of playing an acoustic and you don’t need to plug in just to practice.
That’s why they have guitar shops, so you can eventually discover what the “best” is for you and your style.
Wow! What an enjoyable ride through guitar land this has been. Years ago in Mexico I bought a requinto and re-strung the thing and then picked for years. Arthritic two fingers on left hand broken playing basketball finally caught up with me, and ended my picking days. I would have never thought that FR would respond the way it has. A fine trip.
I have a strat already, an American Deluxe HSS, and love it, just looking at adding something different to my stable. Been playing since the 60’s
I have a positive grid spark amp. It gives me any tone and so much more.

Good advice.
I bought an Epiphone LP Custom Pro in the Koa finish a couple of years ago for about 20% of the cost of a “real” Gibson LP. I am still amazed at the quality of the build and the electronics.
PS - My next buy will be a Telecaster.
