Yes, but do not go too rural.

Good advice. Not more rural than you can handle, anyway. Otherwise the ideal alternative is being a Mountain Man with no neighbors, no services, and no hope. (And there will be, and have been, times when that didn't sound so bad...)

Out rural I’d be more worried about Ruby Ridge type federal criminals than the common urban filth.

Most are not suited to become mountain men. 🤣

But the main disadvantage of being too rural is you also become too vulnerable, and if an accident were to happen, it would a long time before help arrived, if ever. I live in a rural setting that is five minutes from a small town that offers stores etc. close by, with a bigger town about 15 miles away. The smallest land mass are about 5 acre plots. with many of them 10 acres or more.
