his great pedestal that the Corvette has been risen to has also allowed the car to grow and expand in the aftermarket world. As we all know, the aftermarket scene can be a powerful thing, pun intended. However, when starting with a platform as awesome as the nation's greatest American powerhouse there is a lot of potential to make something truly amazing. This is best exemplified by today’s example which is a fantastic combination of lightweight and heavy horsepower.
It all started with a little red C8 Corvette. After a long and arduous process, this vehicle has driven headfirst into the realm of automotive greatness. This ascension was helped in large part due to the twin-turbo system which allows the acquisition of over 1,075 horsepower. Of course, this extreme power figure was achieved as well through the efforts of the FuelTech automotive company.

Great video of a C8 Vette running 9.6 quarter mile. A total of 14 runs in a single day, and nothing broke. At least one run shut down early do to an excessive wheely. That's right, the front wheels off the ground on every run.
FYI: While this is an after market build, Chevy ALSO produces a twin turbo Vette now that makes over 1,000HP.
Both 100% street legal.
Video may be great but the text looks like it was written by an AI in a foreign language and then google-translated.
Wheels-up!
Yep
There’s supposed to be a hybrid coming out that pulls like a locomotive at low rpm’s.
“At full chat, the engine runs on 20 psi of boost with so much air pumping through the cylinders that the exhaust exiting the four tailpipes pushes the car with 37 pounds of thrust.”
The new 2025 ZR1, also over 1,000hp and a factory guarantee too.

Why the manual shift? Seems like an automatic would be a more seamless, steady acceleration.
Not that I know anything; it’s just intuitive to me as I watched him let off the gas several times to shift manually.
“Not that I know anything; it’s just intuitive to me as I watched him let off the gas several times to shift manually.”
That was a hard shifting automatic.
Manual transmission is unavailable.
Hasn’t this Fueltech mod 1075 hp C8 been around since 2021?
1,000 hp.
You can go from Zero to dead in less than 6 seconds.
I look at videos of idiots and imbeciles who are doing street takeovers in their thousand horsepower cars, and I wonder just how much brain damage is required to take an $80,000 car out to destroy it?
A Miata is more fun to drive. I never understood why GM could never produce a 6-cylinder Miata. In the 60’s, the Corvette was about 40-50% above the Impala, the standard passenger car. The differential is a lot larger now. A 6-cylinder Miata could fit in this price range. Maybe it is the same reason we have $100,000 pickup trucks.
Yep. It’s getting ridiculous. How much faster do you want to go?
Tesla Plaid 0-60 in 1.9s
Many cars 0-60 in < 3s
I have a BMW M3 V8 putting out ~420hp...it’s as much power as I need. Some of these numbers will just make your head spin.
And where can you really use that power? Unless you’re on a track you’re probably putting others at risk just using all that power.
People who know say a Viper just wants to kill you. It is a hard uncomfortable car to drive.
Most high priced super cars are for show. I don’t think they should be outlawed, but maybe restricted for use on public roads.
“pushes the car with 37 pounds of thrust.””
Maybe they could enhance that a bit with an actual turbine!
What kind of batteries does it use?
“exhaust exiting the four tailpipes pushes the car with 37 pounds of thrust.”
That’s odd because turbochargers take energy OUT of the exhaust stream, they don’t add it.
While not a 6, the Pontiac Solstice had a pretty decent 2.4 liter 4. Had GM not shuttered Pontiac, the car had potential. It probably would've met the same fate as the Fiero, spend a few years working out the bugs, get things just right, then abandon the concept altogether.
I totally agree with that...I have owned both Corvette and Miata...Though the Corvette had the power and popularity, the Miata was so much more fun to drive on curvy roads....
