The Kursk incursion took so many troops from the defense of the Donbas that the front lines there can no longer be held up. It has also diverted scarce artillery ammunition which the Donbas defenders now lack. The Ukrainian defense in Donbas is currently crumbling with the Russian side taking several villages per day.
There was some hope expressed that Russia would divert troops from its Donbas attack towards Kursk. But the Kursk operation is on Russian ground where the Russian army is allowed to use conscript unit to defend the country. Conscripts are not allowed to take part in the operation within Ukraine. This gives the Russian army a large reserve that it can use against the incursion.
Ukraine has seized more Russian territory in two weeks than Russia has seized in Ukraine all year.
FALSE. Russia evacuated all but 2000 people so the Ukraine claimed it 'won' or 'seized' empty villages and even that it set up an 'administrative office' to rule over empty buildings. Ukraine always claims to control areas it sent recon teams to investigate.

It's a trap. Russia knew it was coming in advance and moved a Checken volunteer unit skilled at ambush to the Kurks region in advance, where Russia's forces are ambushing recon teams pushing into deep forested regions. He wants to make the point that conflict is terrorists versus civilian forces. Putin still has regular military in RUssia to send, if he wanted to.
Moscow has so far kept regular recruits into the armed forces on rotation at home, sending only contract soldiers to the bloody battlefields of Ukraine. But the Kursk offensive has changed that delicate political balance.

PUtin knew about the incursion in advance and that one of its goals was to force him to thin his troops in Donbas, so he left them in place. He has extensive reserves in Russia to send to Kursk if he feels its necessary. Since the Ukraine's forces included foreign mercenaries who were shooting at civilians, shooting at cars with evacuees, shooting at ambulances and fire trucks, Putin has deemed the incursion forces terrorists, and not military, so he doesn't plan to use regular troops. Those who volunteered or were conscripted are involved in a terrorist mop up. I don't care what kind of legal problem that causes Putin - his problem, not mine. Although there are some captures, I don't believe hundreds of them' were caught.

The article is bizarre - no mention of the fact that the longer Ukrainians stay, the more they are hurting for supplies. The Ukrainians were running out of ammo and weapons while in the Ukraine. They took a lot with them and the Russian forces focused on elminiating vehicles, fuel convoys etc. The Ukrainians have had heavy losses sending recon teams into ambushes. Who knows the forested regions better? Local militias or desperate, undersupplied, Ukrainians.
This act of Zelenskys is meant to keep the fighting going despite the fact tht the Donbas falls. The Ukrainians have to keep the fighting going until the election to avoid harming the Dem/DNC's chances of stealing the election. If the Ukraine obviously collapses before then, the DNC/Dems are exposed for lying through their teeth about Ukraine's chances of winning throughout the time they sent Ukraine $200 billion (that we know of) in taxpayer dollars. Joe promised more money in the past week. The Ukrainians have to keep the grift going until Nov 5.
The article quotes Ben Hodges: He has been Senior Advisor to Human Rights First since June 2022 and also serves as NATO Senior Mentor for Logistics. Hodges, and the NATO he serves, are lying.
China and others are furious because Zelensky's emissary assured them that Zelensky wanted negotiations. They know that Putin would not negotiate if attacked while the Ukraine made false claims of seeking negotiations and working toward nuclear terrorism. The Ukrainians have no target of value in Ukraine aside from the nuclear power plant. They are focusing on the power plant - apparently they wanted to capture it and blackmail Putin into favorable negotiations (withdraw all troops from Ukraine etc.). It would not have worked. But that shows the Ukrainians lied to the international community while attempting nuclear black mail. Putin says he believes the Ukrainians have a dirty bomb - I suspect he is tellig the truth.
Putin has said there is no negotiating with terrorists. Earlier he pointed out there's no negotiating with Zelensky while he has a decree banning negotiations with Russia still in place. Why hasn't Zelensky removed his decree? Because NATO/Biden want war to continue, at least to Nov 5 if not longer.
Attacking Kursk ends talks of negotiations, which was NATO's (Biden regime) intention. NATO wants the fighting to continue until November 5.
The article agonizes over the fate of conscripts and pretends it doesn't know Zelensky resorted to stealing men as old as 70, some of them disabled, and boys as young as 15, off the streets, out of bomb shelters and even ordering pizza and conscripting the delivery boy, and it's been going on for over a year now.
