Huckleberries are wonderful. This is indeed the season for them. Here they only grow in specific elevation and environment. I can find plenty of them if I go packpacking in the late summer.
Oregon huckleberries are blue. In NorCal the huckleberries grew along the coast and were red. Still good.
they are blue here, NW Florida, as well..........I use dto pick them as a kid all over my grandfather’s woods........
Oregon’s got red huckleberries, too. The bushes aren’t evergreen, like the blues.
