Were one to listen to the Democrat/socialist/communist (D/s/c) media, one would rejoice at the dramatic drop in crime in America’s blue, D/s/c ruled cities under the enlightened Harris/Biden Administration. However, residents of those cities, aren’t rejoicing, quite the opposite. Still, one of the primary themes of the Harris/Walz campaign is how tough Kamala was on crime, and how her brilliant anti-crime policies have caused crime rates, particularly violent crime rates, to dramatically drop. Axios is representative of D/s/c cheerleading:
New preliminary data from major U.S. cities shows a sharp drop in violent crime in the first half of the year — more than 25% in some communities — as the COVID-era crime wave recedes.
Why it matters: The drop in violent crime puts a serious dent in one of the most frequently used lines of attack by former President Trump and his allies, who have sought to tie Democrats to the issue since 2020.
Tim Walz and Pete Buttigieg are also cheerleading:
Make no mistake, violent crime was up under Donald Trump,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz warned in his first speech as Kamala Harris’ running mate.
“If you look this up at home,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg claimed last month, “you will know that crime went down under Biden and crime went up under Trump. Why would America want to go back to the higher crime we experienced under Donald Trump?”
But the opposite is true: Between 2016 and 2020, violent crime fell by 17% under Trump — and soared by 43% under Biden between 2020 and 2022.
For years now, police agencies across the country—more than 50%--have declined to report crime statistics to the FBI, once the gold standard for such things, but no longer. Part of the problem is defunded police agencies, lacking manpower...

Oh, the JOY, less crime in blue cities.
I suppose when these guys decriminalize crime.... that may also have an effect on stats lol.
It is sad to note that joe’s speech was well enough delivered to blind the general public’s eyes with blinding white light gas flame.
Where DID all that energy come from??
And, I’ll have what he’s having!
Biden didn't take office until Jan. 20, 2021. And the writer should state the trigger for the crime wave, George Floyd's death, the riots, and the police withdrawal.
Major US cities are all controlled by Democrats.
They are not reporting their crimes to the FBI as they are supposed to.
Ergo, the ‘Crime Rate’ looks like it’s gone down under their watch.
FAKE, FAKE, FAKE!
It’s all they know.....................
Also much of the violent crime during Trump’s first term was committed by the militant wing of the Democrat party, Antifa/BLM, for political purposes: the definition of domestic terrorism.
BFL
Every week a local crime report app sends me an email that “apologizes “ that there’s no crime to report in my area
Buncha gunned up hillbillies with packs of angry porch dogs.
Yep.
It’s so weird.

No Crime Data This Week!
We’re very sorry, but it looks like we have no crime data for you this week.
:(
Yes. I can’t count the number of posts I’ve read quantifying how crimes not charged by Soros DAs were sponged out of the stats and how many criminals’ race stats were altered to make it look as if the invaders aren’t boosting the crime rate.
The Democrats are very organized. From Top to Bottom. They have the entire agenda mapped out for years in advance.
The Republicans cant even get their act together all at the same time.................
The Republican Party is the token opposition party. They rather be bribed by the MIC.
“ Hive mind” may be the operative phrase here.
/I hate the Borg
So if a murder is committed, but not reported to the FBI, it didn’t happen.
The Republicans remind me of the Celts
A thousand fiercely independent petty kingdoms infighting whilst the Roman collective plotted their doom.
Where is Boadicea when you need her ?
BeijinBiden ended the requirement that gov’mts report as they did the years previous. It is like changing the way inflation is calculated — take out gas and food.
Eliminate the bad side effects of your policies and the stoopid people that call themselves Democrats will continue to vote.
Measuring Crime
Democrats contend that crime rose while Trump was president and fell after Biden took office. Republicans contend that crime fell when Trump was president and rose after Biden took office.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg cited FBI statistics, saying “if you look this up at home, you will know that crime went down under Biden and crime went up under Trump.” Democrat nominee for vice-president Gov. Tim Walz asserted “make no mistake, violent crime was up under Donald Trump.”
The Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) asks a yearly sample of 240,000 people whether they have been victims of crime. Up until recently, the both the FBI’s data on crimes reported to the police and the crimes reported in the NCVS tracked each other fairly closely. While Trump was president the FBI data showed crime decreasing by 1%. The NCVS data showed crime decreasing by 17%. Over the past few years, though, they have diverged with the FBI data showing a modest 4% decline in crime since Biden took office and the NCVS data showing a 43% increase.
Buttigieg insisted that “the issue is one of credibility. When it comes to integrity and honesty there is no more reliable source of data on crime than the FBI. All of America knows and respects the heroic efforts of this great organization to uphold the laws of this country and putting their lives on the line to ensure that justice prevails. The NCVS is just a survey subject to the types of errors common to survey research. We see that in every survey of voter opinions where the results are typically plus or minus a few percent.”
Elon Musk offered a different explanation, saying “the ‘soft-on-crime’ attitude—defunding police, no bail release of arrested suspects, and abuse of prosecutorial discretion—of the progressive Democrats has simultaneously encouraged criminals to dare to commit crimes and discouraged victims to report crimes to the police. It has gotten to the point where people aren’t even bothering reporting crime because they don’t think anything good is going to happen if they do. People know that they are less safe now than they were four years ago. Democrat policies offer nothing that will make our streets, businesses and homes any safer.”
In related news, the FBI has thoroughly scrubbed the scene of the July 13 attempted assassination of Trump. The assassin’s blood was washed off the roof. His body was released and cremated. His autopsy report has yet to be released. The FBI refuted allegations that they are interfering with Congress’ investigation of the incident, saying “we are merely following standard procedures for what remains an open investigation. When we close this case we will release any evidence we deem suitable for public disclosure. Until then we advise everyone to calm down and be patient.”
Meanwhile, members of the Secret Service team providing security for a Kamala Harris fund raising campaign event broke into a Massachusetts hair salon so they could have access to private bathroom facilities. According to Alicia Powers, owner of the salon, “they picked the lock, went in and out multiple times over an hour-and-a-half, snacked on the candy by the reception desk intended for salon customers, and when they were done, left the doors unlocked.” At first, Secret Service spokesperson Melissa McKenzie insisted that “we would never do something like that.” Later when the shop owner said she had them on video tape, the head of the Secret Service’s Boston field office called her to apologize, but also pointed out that “considering the fact that each Secret Service agent is expected to take a bullet for the person they are protecting they deserve better accommodations than the disgusting porta-potty rentals provided at the Harris event. So, I can’t really blame the agents for opting to go elsewhere.”
