The organizers behind a mobile health clinic offering free abortions and vasectomies near where thousands of people are gathering for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago are pushing back amid outrage from conservatives.
Planned Parenthood Great Rivers announced it was bringing its mobile health clinic to Chicago and offering free services to those who signed up on August 19 and 20, which are the first two days of the convention.
Before the clinic even arrived, they announced that all of the appointments had been filled and that they would follow up if they had cancelations but the move sparked an avalanche of criticism online.
'The goal was we knew there were tens of thousands of people coming in around this time, and we really wanted to show and highlight what is possible when you have a state that supports reproductive access,' Dr. Colleen Nicholas, chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Great Rivers told DailyMail.com.
'We're really at a critical time in public health were we really need to be thinking about doing things differently, and mobile health care is one of the ways to do that,' she said.
On Monday, the mobile clinic had twelve vasectomy patients scheduled. Over the course of two days, they expect to see somewhere between 20 and 30 patients for medication abortions.
DailyMail.com was given access to see inside one of the two rooms being used for patients' procedures over the two days it is in town.
It included medical equipment and an examination table. Between the two exam rooms was also a small waiting area, and organizers set up a table outside to check people in before they entered the mobile clinic.

I actually watched a father trying to save his grand-child from being aborted. For weeks he tried to convince his daughter to no avail.
So may forgt there are men who suffer for womans decisions to kill their child.
