Ukrainian troops are rolling deeper and deeper inside Russia! Russian generals are incompetent, the propaganda is in shock and Putin is silent!
One military spokesman reassures Russians that all is well, and they should get some popcorn and enjoy watching the military crush this incursion. That was two weeks ago.
Russia has some of its troops doing a joint military exercise with Mongolia as all this occurs, showing it on Russian TV.

OK. But that’s what I think you should do. But your call.
What I’ll do is observe, and recognize that I’m no military man.
I suspect the Russians will use tactical nukes if they have to, but nonpersistent chemical agents might be more likely. They weren't shy about using chemical weapons to end the Moscow theater hostage situation.

It was the biggest dumbass move the pentagon has made yet. Those Uke troops who haven’t already been killed or captured in the Kursk Pocket are dead man walking. You have noticed, I assume, how the entire Donbas battle line is now collapsing due to peeling off resources to waste in the KP. This Uke idiocy will give the Russians total victory this year. Up to now Putin has been fighting like George McClellan. Expect Putin to embrace the “bloody arithmetic” soon.
1812 - French troops are rolling deeper and deeper inside Russia! Russian generals are incompetent, the propaganda is in shock and the Tsar is silent!...............
I can see the Russians encircling the Uke’s. Or just wait for winter.
I don’t want to see this, for it’s a needless waste of life. War materials are the least of the Uke’s problems. The Ukrainians don’t have that many able bodied men to fill those ranks.
So yes, this could be somewhat of a remake of that old movie. Just different actors.
“I think I’ve seen this movie before.“

Yeah, me too. Anyone with a sense of history and a tiny bit of knowledge about military operations will understand that all of this success is going to go nowhere. Russia is very accustomed to having western armies roll over their corrupt and poorly-led brigades and divisions of poorlyequipped, drunks. They But, because of the vastness of the Russian heartland, the invader always gets swallowed up.
First of all, though I don’t know the precise numbers, I did read several days ago that this entire incursion started with something like 12,000 to 14,000 men. That is a literal drop in the bucket for the Russians. Second, let’s say that they keep piling up successes and keep driving deeper and deeper into Russia. How are they going to eat? Who’s going to supply them with fuel for their vehicles? How about ammunition? Without logistics, no army can win for more than a very short period of time, no matter how good they are and how bad the enemy may be. Armies run on supplies, not unicorn farts. Third, the more success that the Ukrainians have, the more arrogant its own leaders will become, and push this “expeditionary force“ to go further and further into Russia. Well, that’s a trap.
I will be surprised if this Ukrainian force even exists as a coherent unit for more than about another two weeks.
Their supply lines must be getting thin.
It could very well BE a trap.
Last i saw Zelenski was trying to hit the nuclear Plant via drones. He sooo wants to create sufficient alarm to bring NATO into the fray.
“Spoiling attack. They were serious they would have strategic objectives.”
Who says they don’t have a strategic objective?
It could be a desperation move but it’s a better tactic than rushing their troops against the well fortified defense in depth trenches that are just a meat grinder.
And tanks are an open space war machine and should gain the offense IF they have air superiority.
Otherwise these Abrams tank will be like ducks in a shooting gallery!
If Russia can move their troops in front of Ukraine’s troops and cut off their supplies then this advancement will has disasterous results.
Time will tell.

Russians Baffled After Putin’s ‘Space Troops’ Deployed as Infantry in Kursk

Russians have been left baffled after President Vladimir Putin deployed his so-called “space troops” to defend the Kursk region due to a manpower shortage amid a Ukrainian incursion.
The deployment of temporary motorized rifle of Russia’s Aerospace Forces to the Kursk region was first reported by independent investigative Russian outlet Important Stories.

The unit, created between May and June, consists of personnel from security and logistics companies, engineers, mechanics, some officers, and servicemen from a Russian spaceport. There are also personnel from special warehouses of the Aerospace Forces and radar stations in Russia’s Voronezh region, who were previously in charge of manning Russia’s nuclear deterrent, the publication reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

Everything We Know about Ukraine’s Kursk Offensive in Russia
The Fighterbomber Telegram channel, which has links to the Russian Aerospace Forces, appeared confused by the decision to deploy the unit to Kursk.
“I have no idea why they call themselves motorized riflemen, if there is no sign of any motorized rifles there,” the channel said, claiming that members of the regiment “beg other units for anything more serious than a Kalashnikov.”
“In essence, it is a rifle regiment,” the channel said.
Since Kyiv launched its surprise incursion on August 6 in Kursk, which borders Ukraine’s Sumy region, Ukrainian forces have seized control of 1,250 square kilometers (482 square miles) of Russian territory and 92 settlements in Kursk, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday.
The scale of the offensive is significant—Ukraine is now reported to have seized more territory in the Kursk region in days than Russia has captured in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. It also marks the first time that foreign troops have seized Russian territory since World War II.
Russia has also been scrambling to redeploy a portion its troops from the front line in Ukraine to the Kursk region as Zelensky’s men continue to swiftly seize territory. The Wall Street Journal on August 17 reported that some 5,000 personnel had already been redeployed from Ukraine to Kursk by August 13.
Tatiana Stanovaya, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center and founder of R.Politik: Reality of Russian Politics, a political analysis firm, said it is “now evident that Moscow doesn’t have an effective or swift military solution to this situation.
“Redirecting troops from the main front would mean falling into a well-laid trap,” Stanovaya wrote in a thread on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Announcing an urgent mobilization (and it’s not feasible to send new recruits straight into battle) would lead to a conflict with society. I’m not sure Putin is ready for that just yet. This implies that the Ukrainian presence in Russian border regions could persist for months, if not years, and eventually, people may become accustomed to it.”
Three days to Kiev! Or at least back to the Ukrainian border.
Even if they were routed from Kursk and ran back to the Dnieper with their tails between their legs today, Putin’s paradigm has been shattered. The war is now most definitely not something happening “over there”. This has been undermined gradually, from the destruction of the Kersh bridge and air raids on naval and air assets in Crimea, to drone attacks on Moscow and factories close to the border, to now a full-fledged invasion and weeks passing with no action from the Kremlin, and streams of refugees.
Rooosky chumps are on the ropes in Kursk. A great Ukrainian offensive that accomplishes three things.
—Russian borders are a joke, are shown to be left defenseless
—Roooosky troops get diverted from Ukraine to Kursk
—Ukraine has guaranteed more Western arms, funds and support
—Poke The Stupid Russian Bear as much as you want to. The Bear is borderless in Kursk and other places
Not going well for Vlad
