Read Charles Dickens’ “A Child’s History of England”.

It covers from the Roman period up to his time, Queen Victoria.

It use dto be required reading in British schools.

It’s very informative and entertaining and funny at the same time because of Dickens’ running commentary all throughout the book!.

Only Dickens could make history fun!...........

Actually history is fun. I never understood why people thought history was dull until I sat in a public school class room and heard a teacher droning.

How on earth did he make the "Lewis and Clark Expedition" dull? That thing was high adventure. Even had actual monsters. Hey, how else would you describe an angry grizzly?

History is a very long story full of mystery, adventure, comedy, tragedy, heroes and villains. That schools have made it dull is, in my opinion, a crime against humanity.
