Near-Death Experiences As Proof of a God
Various Places | 8/18./2024 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 08/18/2024 12:03:17 AM PDT by Lazamataz

I've been a fan of watching YouTube accounts of Near Death Experiences lately. There are certain common elements:

Various neuroscientists have stated that simple biological processes of death produce these effects. Maybe the tunnel and the light can be explained by this, but the rest? No way. I cannot think that mere biological processes could manifest such a detailed series of accounts. Nor is there any evolutionary benefit to these processes, obviously... you are dead, right? Evolution is highly unlikely to be a factor here.

So this, to me, seems like quasi-scientific proof of a God. Now, religions have added all sorts of nonsense around these concepts, since almost to a person, the subject of an NDE describes a God that is utterly nonjudgemental and loving. So, take the 10 Commandments: Seems like the 10 Commandments were written to make OUR lives better, and it is not some cosmic scorecard that God is judging us on.

One person I know personally that had an NDE, would not talk a lot about it, but the one thing he did relate is that 'all the nonsense religion spouts? The beings on the other side, they don't care. Just be loving.'

And that aligns with what Jesus said: To love God with all your heart, and to love your fellow man.

They’ve put signs up above those lights in operating theaters. Nobody who said they had an NDE in them ever spotted them. It’s really all probably lack of oxygen to the brain. We know the brain can make up some pretty awesome stuff. Add in whatever trauma put you in an NDE in the first place, probably a bunch of various drugs at they try to bring you back.

Now the one I find interesting is night terrors. The way they’re always the same is really kind of messed up and creepy.

Those folks coming “back” from their experiences [AND WHO] are teaching a false teaching- and I believe are deceived by the evil one

I think that is absolutely correct.

I agree. I get the impression that the folks who have NDEs may not be that far into the “other side.” In fact, they are obviously not so far that they can’t come back.

“I don’t understand why people who have NDEs believe every spirit they encounter. Such belief is very naive.”

Very wise words. And very true. There are many imposter spirits.

I recently worked with a psychologist who has written books and lectured about his conversations with Jesus. When he realized that it was not Jesus, but an impostor, he had a mental breakdown an ended up in the hospital psych ward for several weeks.

I’ve giided him through his difficult experience and healing. Sad to say, I see him repeating the experience as medications rescued him from the experience and he did not learn discernment and grow through it.

Pharmaceuticals often block the suffering one needs for soul growth.

See my #79.

There are other examples of this sort of thing, these are just the two most impactful for me.

Something much more amazing is happening here, and — frankly — it has defeated my fear of death.

Losing the fear of death is a very common, if not universal, effect of an NDE.

However, you tend to be one of Free Republic’s more doubting members. Be aware, I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I’m just reporting on my observations of these vids.

Go forth and be well. 😊

No, my memories were exactly as the experience was so “real” that it shook me to the core and I Immediately conveyed the experience to hospital staff and to parents when they came back in after it was OK to do so.

I don’t know for certain, but I think the “commonality” might likely stem from a God given universally experienced protection during the dying process that God built in during creation. I also think there might be other non spiritual reasons why ther eis a commonality in experiences too.

The neuron issue the neurons aren’t dead yet, but are experi3ncing trauma which may cause them to fire in u expected ways which may trigger visions/hallucinations, just like when a person has a fever, they have weird hallucinations.

There are dreams that are common the world over no matter what culture one is from too- dreams such as falling, or running away but can’t escape a person pursuing, or animal or whatever.

The experience I had is common for those that “go the other way in death”- why? I dunno- I suspect misfiring synapses had a lot to do with it. Could just be that my personality is one where I “fear “ the worst subconsciously, and that played a large part, but again, I didn’t know of hell at the time- what it would be like, but maybe my fearful mind invented it- who knows.

There is a NDE/OOBE ping list on FR?

Please add me.

And might as well add tired&retired - he has never changed his message or tone in the ~20 years that I have been reading his writings.

Blessings!

I feel the same way. Seeing the dead body of a loved one or animal, the life/soul is just gone. It’s so strange to me, but so obvious. Not really strange, just, I don’t know, hard to describe.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but that white light was something you had never seen before or since that event.

I’ve been to concerts, performances, fireworks shows, but never saw anything that was the same as that light.

When you look at NDEs, many contradict each other and contradict the Bible. I read once about a lady who worked with sick children, and many had NDEs. She reported that Catholic children often mentioned seeing the Virgin Mary during their NDEs, while Protestant children almost never mentioned seeing her. That leads me to believe that people see what they expect to see during NDEs.

.... or could it be that "They" are communicating to you in a language you can understand?

[[and contradict the Bible]]

Mine sure did- the “test” I was given by a voice was to “count sounds”, and I was able to at first, but it got faster and faster, and I couldn’t anymore, and the voice said “don’t worry, you don’t exist” and that is when I was cast into the outer darkness with that weird feeling of not existing but so ehiw being conscious of my pr3sence in comp, etc isolation and loneliness- can’t really explain it better- it was weird and totally unbiblical

Drugs etc. can do that plus similar exposure to same things in life.....we all know what tunnels are...light...and we've all seen religious paintings and figures. So wouldn't be hard to imagine similar things.

If someone Wants to believe in those stories then it would'nt take much to make believers out of them. But these do not line up with Scripture and further Satan is able to masquerade anything ...he is after all the great counterfeiter.

Very true. Same can be said for self-medication using natural herbs and tonics.;-)

Yes which is why I think it is a built in coping mechanism- given by a gracious God who could zllow the evil one to twrrorize everyone during the dying process, but he doesn’t allow it for most I beleive.
