Fake news there. Everyone knows that Elvis is still alive, and is living on a Caribbean island.

I once was at a talk delivered by actress turned Catholic nun, Dolores Hart. Mother Dolores spoke at length about Elvis, specifically mentioning what a gentleman, kind person and good friend to people that he was. An American original... R.I.P.

There have been several Elvis sightings over the last 47 years. Besides the occasional 7/11 sighting, Elvis crop circles can be seen dotting the country’s farmlands. There are also spontaneous cloud formations bearing his image. If you listen closely to the wind, you can hear it singing some popular Elvis songs, such as ‘Viva Las Vegas’ and ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight’. There is a giant statue of him on the moon as well.

I am from Memphis.

I delivered newspapers at the time.

The stack of newspapers after his death was huge.

It was hard to deliver all those papers for a ten year old.

People I know personally told me he was stone dead at the hospital.

He’s dead, Dr. Nick killed him, I drove past his office last night.

Madison Avenue east of Zinny’s where I saw my first tranny in sixth grade.

I know what I am talking about.

Funny how those who make music can affect us so much. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was complex neurological phenomena going on in our brains...

In 1958 my brother and I were moved to a bunkhouse that was in our back yard as our sleeping quarters. We two were the oldest of ten kids, and our house needed the room for the rest.

It was a wonderful break for us, because at 14 and 12 respectively, it was like total freedom!

I had an AM tube radio under my bed and at night I would quietly listen to radio serials until quite late. Then I happened onto Elvis and music had a whole new meaning for me. That was the start of my young adult life and for me at least, Rock and Roll was here to stay.

Marilynn (class of ‘72) went into deep mourning. Big fan, she even had a roadside life size framed Velvet Elvis prominently displayed in her living room.

She was definitely a curiosity...

Elvis Presley - honored by Alvin Lee when naming their band "Ten Years After" (1966) after the release date of Elvis's first record album. ("Elvis Presley" 1956)

And by The Clash when their album cover of "London Calling" was made to look almost exactly like Elvis's first album cover ("Elvis Presley" - check out the two album covers side-by-side).

I don't know of any other recording artist likewise honored by the bands that came after them.

I was coaching high school football at the time...Another school in our city had a player named Elvis Presly (his name was spelled differently)...

When we got ready for practice, someone said Elvis Presley had died...I thought that kid had from the heat at his team’s practice....I could not imagine “The King” dying.....

The day after Elvis died, my otherwise brilliant father decided that we should go to our hair lady, Carolyn, and get cuts before my school season started. Well Carolyn and her entire female staff were crazed Elvis fans. There were pictures and posters of the King everywhere in the salon. We arrived, and it was a nightmarish cry fest!! It took at least an hour longer than usual and I was too young to give my dad $h$# about that horribly, bad idea!! Wish he were still alive so that I could ask “WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING??!”

DISBELIEVER! HERETIC. ANTI-CHRIST!

He is not gone, I saw him just last weekend.

Burn the unbeliever! Stone him, then burn the corpse!
