Arsonist sets himself on fire trying to burn down barber shop [video]

Australian police have launched an appeal over CCTV footage which shows an alleged arsonist dropping and rolling after setting themselves on fire during an attack on a barber shop.

The footage, taken just before midnight on July 6, shows two individuals pulling up to the ‘Gold Blade’ barber shop in Gungahlin, Canberra, on push bikes.

During the frantic exit, the individual can be seen diving through the smashed glass panel and onto the pavement, before rolling over several times in an attempt to stop the flames from spreading.

Even better that it was his crotch burning brightly!

I think the gasoline was consumed and since the arsonist poured it mostly on non-flammable items like the counter, it didn't catch. Except in the corner where there was a sofa with some papers etc. on it.

It burns out in the direction that it was poured, and then continues to burn, so doesn't look like any suppression system.

Just an incompetent firebug.

That’s my take. A little cross ventilation might have helped, but he’s an idiot. Lucky he didn’t create a fuel-air bomb and blow the whole thing apart while he was in it, I suppose.

But it looks like the idiot survived. So much for natural selection. And the Aussie cops apparently can't catch either one of them. You'd think they'd be checking hospital emergency rooms for burn patients!
