My Notes on video | Ukr Disaster: Rus Sweeps Towards Pokrovsk, Collapse; Key Villages Fall, Zelensky Doubles Down Kursk
RUMBLE ^ | 8/15/2024 | Alexander Mercouris

Posted on 08/15/2024 8:06:26 PM PDT by ransomnote

The first part of Alexander Mercouris' video deals with specific regions and fighting in the Donbas (primarily Pokrovsk) in detail. Mercouris says the fighting in that critical region appears to be reaching a 'decision point' as Russians continue to advance, apparently faster than anticipated. Ukrainians normally evacuate citizens ahead of Russian troops and this didn't happen in today's fighting in Donbas, supporting Mercouris' impression that the Ukrainians did not anticipate this rate of Russian advance.

Mercouris mentions airforce and drone attacks on Ukrainians fighters and includes a
Ukrainian fuel supply convoy of 15 vehicles which was destroyed by Russian aircraft. He said there were some reports that Ukrainians were running short of fuel in that area before the strikes.

In the past 24 hours Ukrainian losses:

340+ dead/wounded
19 armored vehicles [including 5 Bradley Infantry fighting vehicles]
14 armored fighting vehicles
8 motor vehciles
5 field artillary systems
2 Unclav/Bukavel (sp)Electronic warfare systems

From the beginning of the Kursk incursion, Ukrainian losses;
2640 dead/wounded
37 Tanks [video today of one British Challenger tanks]
32 Armored personell carriers
23 Armored infantry fighting vehicles [nearly all are Bradleys]
206 armored fighting vehciles
96 motor vehicles
4 air defense systems
3 multiple launch rocket
20 field artillary systems
3 electronic warfare systems

Supplemental information from Apti Aladeenov:
He said some weeks ago, the Akmut special forces (Chechen) units were re-deployed to Kursk in anticipation of the Ukrainian Kursk incursion.( Mercouris has said previously that the fighting is in areas of thick forests and that the Russian forces were conducting ambushes. ) He also notes that the Chechens are particularly skilled at this kind of ambush. Aldeenov says they have cleared Martinovka of Ukrainian troops. He says that the Russians still control Sudzha. 2 more areas are being mopped up (2 villages to the west of Martinovka). Ukrainians have been pulling everything they could to break through to go deeper, closer to the Kursk nuclear power plan but haven't been able to break through due to Russian opposition.

Ukrainians control less territory than they claim (Mercouris refers to map observations). Mercouris doesn't know how much control of Sudzha the Ukrainians actually have. Mercouris thinks the bulk of Ukrainians are located in isolated positions strung out along the border and the Russians are creating fortified positions and distributing ambush teams.

The Ukrainians are continuing to lose some of the best troops and material in Kursk while the most important crisis in Pokrovsk (primary) and Torestsk (secondary) regions worsen as Russians are advancing, close to cutting the supply road.

Even as the Russians make increasingly rapid advances in this critical region of conflict, the Kursk incursion has been a grotesque, absurd misallocation of resources, but instead of pulling his troops out, Zelensky is doubling down-he's talking about creating a buffer zone (the latter suggests to Mercouris that the idea of capturing the nuclear power plant has been abandoned) - maybe they know it's out of reach. Zelensky wants to create some sort of administrative zone over these scattered and abandoned villages.

The Russians say the vast majority of the citizens in the border regions of Kursk have been evacuated either independently or in organized convoys. 177 temporary shelters aoperating in 14 regions are providing shelter for more than 9500 people (includes 2000+ children) and they have additional shelters for another 36 thousand people. The location of the fighting is thinly populated - Russians say only 2000 people are unaccounted for. Who is Zelensky supposedly administering in this evacuated region?

Zelensky is turning a failure, although it was a media success, into a debacle. Zelensky is tripling down.

The New York Times  opinion piece, "Putin Has Victory in His Grasp" (Aug. 13, 2024) all but admits it's all but over for the Ukraine, the war is all but lost. The article suggests it might be time for the Ukrainians to go back and reconsider Putin's original terms of complete Ukrainian withdrawal from the four regoins. But Putin has already said negotiations are off the table. Media is saying VP Harris doesn't get along well with Zelensky.

Mercouris says he doubts that reports that the Kursk operation has lifted morale among the Ukrainians fighting in Donbas as claimed.

PING

I don’t see how the Ukrainian agitators on FR get excited about claims that the Ukraine is ‘taking land’ when it’s obvious they are seriously outnumbered and have limited supplies soon to be cut off, and once again, the Russians are raining death on them from the skies! Mercouris says as Donbas nearing collapse, and signs indicate it could soon fall to the Russians, Zelensky is trying to set up an administrative zone over a region the Russians have evacuated except for around 2000 people total.

What’s kind of creepy is that it almost seems like Zelensky may be setting up for a false flag to blame on Russians. If Zelensky just recalls his troops in Kursk to Donbas, there’s no ‘justification’ for Zelensky to frame Putin because the world can see Putin’s forces are winning.

But if Zelensky pretends to rule over abandoned villages, claims he’s offering humanitarian aid to Russians etc., then might he coordinate a false flag (US tax dollars at work) to justify the blame on Putin, “Well yes, Putin did X false flag because the Ukraine was threatening his hold on the nuclear power plant and taking land etc - Putin panicked and here we have [insert false flag here].

Or does that Ukrainian idiot really have nothing but panic and flop sweat on the brain?

When I hear “double down” I always think “Obama” for some reason.

Yes. You are correct. Mercouris said 2000 were'Unaccounted for'. I made a (mistaken) assumption that the unaccounted for had remained. But, Putin has previously said that the Ukrainian force was deemed terrorist because some among them were firing on citizens fleeing in cars, shooting at ambulances, firetrucks and people. Hopefully they haven't killed 2000!

Thank you very much for posting this. I watch Alex’s videos, but it’s very time consuming and his voice is hypnotic andI often fall asleep doing so.

It’s a fantastic help to be able to read the Sinai like this. You are an angel for making these.

“Media is saying VP Harris doesn’t get along well with Zelensky.”

Right. Why would she care? They’re all just a bunch of white crackers and all the same to her.

It must be fake news because esteemed commentator Alexander Mercouris said Russia has destroyed the Ukrainian army on March 1st 2022.

He is never wrong so if the Ukrainian army has been destroyed for 2 and half years there can be no hostilities anymore!

(I listen to all his video’s at 2x, sam for mil ch’s)

Great amount of work detailing his daily. He may have mentioned that Ukraine is massing for a second capture expedition in the Zap-region where they used drone munitions to damage a few days ago. The US supposedly had weapons, and weapons grade tech now under Russian management there.

This morning there is a video on Levan G’s channel showing an old racist Ukrainian wearing a WWII German helmet interacting humorously with an old Russia. One said they were 74... maybe the Uke.

Russia has not exploited any breakthrough points purposfully to allow for at least 3-4 concurrent breakthroughs. Russia maintains their “moth to light” stragety of drawing Ukraine into state of constant contact bleeding them out. We will see more than axis of advance when Russia has decided the AFU is spent ‘nuff to blitzkreg.

Thanx for the synop.

Thank you for the kind words, Rocco. However these are notes - the analyses are those of Alexander Mercouris. He knows very very detailed information about troop movements and terrain etc. and I can't spell those Slavic names, so experts must really get a lot out of his coverage there. What I like best is how he pulls it together with, as you say, interesting analyses. I hear things from him I don't hear elsewhere and his understanding of international negotiations and that kind of manuevering really helps.
