Ukraine had better watch their six o’clock. Susan Rice is not a military strategist. Being 50 miles inside your enemies lines is very dangerous because you’re likely to be surrounded with no escape, which may be what our neocons wish for? Americans to rescue them and get pulled into their precious “Reset War”.

Some kind of sensationalism there. Is Putin dead yet? I suggest you revisit the posts you made and those of many realists, like myself, when you told how Putin was kaput and Prigozhin had taken the Kremlin. I assure you and you can write this down, you will look just as foolish this time when this plays out here and in central Donbas over the next few days. Please, keep cheerleading this developing catastrophe for NATO and the Ukes.

This is a British version of the National Enquirer, Star, Globe, or National Examiner, but without independence.

Fish wrap and rags require better substance.

The driver mentioned has the inside track and full confidence a master politician gives his finest student. A fine comparison would be a comparison of Kalama’s manner of entering politics, e.g., Willies play toy vs. a highly qualified security professional. Heels Up vs. Intelligence.

The guy like Kamala was in the right circles but Kamala couldn’t even handle the border.

https://www.economist.com/europe/2024/08/11/ukraines-shock-raid-deep-inside-russia-rages-on

The Economist reports (archived) on the operation from a hospital in Sumy:

"[T]he accounts from Ukraine’s wounded suggest it has not been a walk in the park, and remains risky. The hospital ward reeks of the sacrifice: soil, blood, and stale sweat. Foil burn-dressings line the corridor. In the yard, the patients, some wrapped like mummies from head to toe in bandages, smoke furiously. Angol, a 28-year-old paratrooper with the 33rd brigade, looks like a Christmas tree. His left arm is immobilised in a fixation device. Tubes, bags and wires protrude from his body. He was also about 30km into Russia when his luck ran out. He isn’t sure if it was artillery or a bomb that hit him. Maybe it was friendly fire; there was a lot of that."

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2024/08/ukraine-sitrep-the-kursk-incursion-was-stopped.html#more

Russia has thus mostly contained the Ukrainian onslaught. The operation is now a new meat grinder like Krinky on the southern front previously was. An operationally isolated attrition pit into which the Ukrainians will have to feed more and more reserves they do not have or will retreat from treeline by treeline.

Russian drones and bombers are now leading the fight. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the Ukrainian incursion has lost much of its armored equipment (machine translation):

"In total, during the fighting in the Kursk area, the enemy lost up to 1,610 servicemen, 32 tanks, 23 armored personnel carriers, 17 infantry fighting vehicles, 136 armored combat vehicles, 47 vehicles, four anti-aircraft missile systems, a multiple launch rocket launcher and 13 field artillery pieces."

That's bizarre fake news. Next they'll be claiming to have armies of 2-headed babies - there'll be pictures on the cover of the National Enquirer in the grocery store, with each baby head wearing a military helmet.

For those who wonder what's gong on -it's incredibly sad that instead of retreating his troops when they couldn't reach the Kursk Nuclear Power plant, Zelensky had them dig in. They are there without air cover. They are his best brigades. They are going to die. In fact, more are crossing the border.

Why, you ask, would Putin allow more to cross the border? Why didn't Putin already close the border, 7 days after the crossing? Why did he allow them to cross in the first place? Likely, because Putin was aware of the plan weeks prior to the Kursk incursion, according to a source who told Alexander Mercouris weeks before it happened. It's a trap. Zelensky sent his best brigades into Putin's trap, and when they couldn't make it to the plant, he told them to dig in. Sad. Stupid waste of his loyal fighting men's lives.

The Sun? Seriously? Name one Ukie Offensive that has been successful? All their offensives were turned in Cauldrons, “ boiling cauldrons”, Bakmut, Avidiivka, etc….massacres.

Fact is this incursion is not sustainable. The Ukies supply lines are getting butt hammered by Vlad’s FAB’s and Kinzhals.

Take another Hopium pill, then get back with us in a week or two.

The Telegraph article indicates that the publication is unaware that Russia has air support in that region and the Ukraine, once again, has nothing. SO there's a surreal nature to the article as it pretends  Putin is floundering. But elsewhere it the article, there's some information which shows Alexai Dyumin is not just a former bodyguard, but is believed to be potentially Putin's successor and is thought to have led special forces in the annexation of Crimea in 2014. I think Putin is handing him a victory - trapped Ukrainians on Russian soil.

Putin appoints former bodyguard who fought off a bear to lead Kursk defence

Alexei Dyumin, who is considered a potential successor to the president, is chosen to head the efforts to drive Ukraine off Russian land

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/08/13/putin-appoints-former-bodyguard-alexei-dyumin-kursk-defence/

Vladimir Putin has appointed one of his former bodyguards to lead his personal effort to end Ukraine’s invasion of Russia.

Alexei Dyumin, who guarded Putin during his first two terms and is considered a potential successor to the president, was named “kurator” of the operation to liberate the Kursk region, Russian military bloggers reported on Tuesday.

SNIP

Dyumin has long been seen as an emerging star in Putin’s entourage, rising to the deputy head of the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence agency, and is thought to have led special forces in the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

SNIP

In 2016, Putin appointed him governor of Tula region, where he gained a reputation as an effective and relatively popular administrator, distinguishing him from several other former bodyguards whom Mr Putin has promoted to senior positions.

In May this year, he was recalled to Moscow and made head of the State Council, an advisory body, in what was seen as preparation for higher office or even to become Mr Putin’s successor.
