The steamer Evening Star, from New-Orleans Aug. 6, arrived at this port yesterday. By her we receive a brief but satisfactory confirmation of the great success achieved at Mobile by Admiral FARRAGUT. OFFICE OF THE U.S. MILITARY TELEGRAPH, NEW-ORLEANS, Saturday, Aug. 6.

The following dispatch has just been received:

FORT PIKE, Aug. 6.

Steamer Clyde passed here this morning from the fleet. She reports that fourteen gunboats and three monitors passed the forts at Mobile yesterday at 8 A.M. One monitor was blown up opposite the forts by a torpedo. The rebel ram Tennessee was captured. Her Captain, BUCHANAN, lost a leg in the fight.

I have no other particulars.

N.P. BANKS.

Maj.-Gen.-Commanding.

On the 28th the same gunboats destroyed two saw-mills, captured two boat-loads of valuable lumber, and returned to Berwick Bay.

On the 29th a party of Gen. ULLMAN's scouts had a fight with some rebels near Morganzia, resulting in the flight of the rebels, leaving a rebel Captain and several men dead, and a number wounded, beside several prisoners in our hands.

Gen. CANBY issued important new trading regulations on the 2d inst., by which no trading boats are allowed below Cairo,
