The EU wants the old censorship back.

Hey! Hey! Hey! We can’t be having open discussions and the free exchange of ideas! That’s dangerous!

If I was a citizen over there I’d be p**ed at this, and would probably react in an unapproved manner.

spreading any disinformation, hatred, or incitement to violence.

Censorship pure and simple. This is no difference from what any dictatorship would do.

The problem with this type of law is that the government gets to define what each word means (and that meaning can be stretched to cover any speech the government dislikes.)

“U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer also attempted to issue a warning to Musk last week. The technology mogul was told that it was dangerous to call out two-tier policing, which Starmer claimed put officers in danger.”

“We don’t believe in Justice and we don’t want you to talk about our Tyranny” is what I hear with this. People in the UK should be very proud of this, because it returns them right back to before the Magna Carta.

I listened to the interview, doing brief skips because I was looking for the subjects covered, and I’m at work and don’t have two hours to spend on it. It was excellent! Issues, issues, issues. Elon did well. Of course he’s not a trained, smooth presenter, but he did well.

It’s an interview that the Democrats wouldn’t want people to hear.

Not just their Deep States... Check out this WaPoo reporter saying the quiet part out loud...

WAPO Reporter on Elon / Trump Interview: "What role does the White House or the President have? Any sort of stopping that, or stopping the spread of that or intervening?"

"..European Commissioner Thierry Breton posted a letter on X, demanding Musk adhere to the E.U.’s Digital Services Act (DSA), specifically about spreading any disinformation, hatred, or incitement to violence.."

Aaaaight.. Start with cleaning up all the "disinformation, hatred, or incitement to violence" coming from the left and their muzzy conspirators. Then, in a few years if the rest is "cleaned up", ask DJT if he'd consider the use of more benign euphemisms to describe the commie pukes. 😉😁

Trump is fairly moderate in a lot of his views so this reaction to him says more about them then it does about Trump.

I don’t understand why the UK doesn’t just lock-out the world Internet, like China. If you want your people in a prison, go ahead and put them there, but don’t expect me to do it for you.

"Thierry’s letter also mentions recent unrest, referring to the anti-mass migration protests and riots in the U.K. over the last two weeks. Musk has been vocal about his criticism of the U.K. government’s handling of the situation, specifically the accusations that British police engage in two-tier policing practices, with allegations they have allowed Muslim mobs to run riot while cracking down hard on white British protestors."

The US Deep State is doing the same, but has to be careful about getting things riled up to the point where outside of DC, a rifle is behind every blade of grass.
They have the same worry as their EU counterparts: a lot of the population is either jaded or distracted by happy talk/entertainment, but unfettered information might start sinking in...then come the ants in the movie "A Bug's Life", and the respective Deep States are the grasshoppers.

Damn! It feels good to be standing up for FREEDOM once again.

Europe, didn't you read the terms of service (Bill of Rights) before signing on?

European Commissioner Thierry Breton posted a letter on X, demanding Musk adhere to the E.U.’s Digital Services Act (DSA), specifically about spreading any disinformation, hatred, or incitement to violence.

Elon asks, “do you have a copy of the criteria?” Little Thierry replies “we will decide once we listen…”.

How can they claim this is something they can hold Elon criminally accountable for while not doing the same for Trump?

Elon is sharing the message, Trump is CREATING the message.

Come and get him. ;p

Clearly, they believe they have some right to censor speech and control the virtual public square discussions.
