The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.## ping list message
If you need a clue ask the group to send you a letter to your private reply.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
ZAP!
SORRY the GIF is so huge, I thought I had “shrunk” it enough !
Interesting. I put this Cryptogram into ChatGPT to see how it would do. It gave me NINE obviously incorrect answers. I had to stop because “You’ve hit the Free plan limit for GPT-4o”

Try adding "width = 33%> between the same brackets as the source address, but afterwards. And precede with < center> but no space before the text "center"
So did you figure it out ?
Thanks.
I put together a spreadsheet that helps solve cryptograms, and I will share it if anyone wants it. Send me a PM with an email address
What it does is the following:
1. Paste the Cryptogram into Cell A1, and press the "Parse" button. The tool will put each character, including blanks into a separate column.
2. When you enter a character into the row below, the tool adds that letter below every corresponding letter
I created a spreadsheet that does something similar, except that when you enter the cryptogram, it parses each letter and space into a series of cells one character wide. If I guess any one letter (like HAL) it fills in the same letter below each instance of the letter. It’s like HAL when I cannot get to HAL.
