What recommendations would you like to suggest to the Trump campaign? Any political movement probably has to be more representative of its voters than than the candidate themselves, so I will always disagree with the dingbats who act as though it's arrogant to ask a campaign to change tactics or focus on an issue. We have the right- they are running to be our representative!! Should the Trump campaign change tactics? Focus on an issue you aren't hearing enough about? Are there any critiques you would make? Is the campaigning vigorous enough? How does their ground game seem to you? What is your general sense of the race, so far? 😉

Why isn’t PDJT out campaigning in the battleground states? He’s ceding the news cycle. I read he hasn’t left Mar a Lago this week and is only going to Montana? Is that accurate?

I remember back in 2016 when all around me were spazzing out about Trump, I as blissfully confidant that he would win. He put the Reagan coalition back together In 2024, I think the Dems will stuff the ballot box to win. There’s no point asking Trump to moderate.
I would focus first and foremost on “It’s the economy, stupid.” It worked for Clinton, and the economy is much worse today. Inflation is on everyone’s mind.
And even though it seems to be extremely hard for Trump to do, get him to stop the personal insults and attacks. Stick to the issues.

Last week, I was housesitting my sister’s place in a southwest suburb of Minneapolis.
The doorbell rang.
It was a volunteer for Angie Craig, the Dem member of Congress. The guy was not handling a clipboard so he was blind as to whom he was speaking with.
I’ve been verbally manhandled at the door by Democrats before - so I decided to return the favor. I told him Angie Craig was a Communist and an idiot and so was he.
The smile left his face and he abruptly turned and walked away.
My point is that the Dems are out there. We should be too.
Just after Labor Day, there will be a series of debates-perhaps as many as three. Let’s see what the race looks like then.

Agree. But I know there’s a sizable group of Freepers who get the warm fuzzies when they hear Trump call other people names.
Trust me when I say this. Most of us who believe this are not RINO’s, pu**ies or pantywaists. I’ve worked on enough political campaign over many decades. I’ve verbally threatened Democrats who tried to tear down our lawn signs in the middle of the night.
Trump should show everyone out there that there is an adult in the room - HIM! Remind everyone first and foremost about gas prices back when he was President and gas prices now. Let everyone know that there is a steady hand at the wheel.
It’s harder to project those things when he’s constantly ridiculing and name-calling others.
He has been out talking to the press and others gaining support. He has been talking issues which the goofballs around here keep screaming at him to do even though he has been doing that and it is the other side not talking issues. When he does that, he gets accused of not campaigning enough.
Focus only on the issues. No made up nicknames.
Say more about No Taxes On Tips.
Simplify the message. No war means more money for you.

I’d like to see Trump and his surrogates focus in more on a specific theme. Trump seems to be trying out all sorts of nicknames and ideas to use against her, but it’s time to settle on something. And I think that something needs to be substantive, not “Kamabla” or other silliness. I’d love to see “Phony Kamala” (or something like that) be the focus, where they can repeatedly stress how no one can trust her sudden transformation into a “moderate” from a radical, and that can lead to a discussion of her leftist positions. Trump could go back to saying “Lyin’ Kamala” and still use this line of attack if he wanted. And I think all the GOP’ers need to get on board with calling her and Walz “radical” and “socialist,” not “liberal.”
I know Trump has some ads going in the swing states, but I think he needs at least some national ads that use clips of her promoting radical viewpoints or sounding like she doesn’t know what she’s talking about like on the economy. The national narrative can influence attitudes in the swing states. He can’t just let the pro-Democrat legacy media create a fake new image for her largely unopposed. People who do not consume conservative media need to see the footage of Kamala herself saying terrible leftist and/or stupid things. And the Trump campaign’s focus should disproportionately be on the economy and then secondarily on the border and only tertiarily on various other important issues.
Beyond that, he needs more of a presence online. Kamala ads are clogging up YouTube, for example, even playing during Trump videos. He needs many more targeted online ad buys. His people also need to encourage more supporters to defend him and go after Kamala online through their social media or even in comment sections. Biden’s online enthusiasm was bleak; Kamala is doing much better on this front, and the Trump folks need to counter it better. On the plus side, I think Trump’s appearances with influencers and non-political figures online have been a great idea. He and Vance need to do more of that to counteract the left-wing media.
I also would love to see more of Vance on the mainstream media shows facing down the propagandists; he’s very good at that and he needs to work to shift the image the leftists have painted of him. At the same time, I hope Trump tries more for the presidential look and deploys his attacks quite strategically while focusing positively on the future. Kamala has been helped by being so much more positive than dour and fearmongering Joe Biden. Trump should take note and try for some “morning in America” Reaganism.
