Chop ‘em down then.
The Urban ‘Rat Utopias are going to experience the Urban Heat Island effect in Spades.
[Lumber is a good Carbon Sink though.]
Time to summer evacuate to the Catskills.
So now the tree huggers will chop them all down?
Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do. — Ronald Reagan
Not near as bad as leftist mouths.
And they charged the people a dollar and half to see them…
They paved paradise and put in a parking lot.”
“Volatile compounds” 🙄
Like flammable O2. That we breathe. To live.
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
Trees cause air pollution.

But urban green spaces also play an underappreciated role in absorbing atmospheric CO2 and in combating global warming, according to a new Columbia study of vegetation in New York City. On a typical summer afternoon, the researchers discovered, the trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, and grasses in New York’s five boroughs collectively absorb more than 40 percent of the city’s total CO2 emissions.
“That’s a much larger impact than we expected to see,” says atmospheric chemist Róisín Commane, who led the research team at the Columbia Climate School’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
“We already knew that street trees had this great benefit of cooling and providing shade,” she says. “That they’re also inhaling enormous amounts of CO2 is an added bonus.”
“Like flammable O2.”
Oxygen is not flammable.

You are off-point. Did you read the article?
Remember when these same a-holes were crying “Save a Tree”...”Hug a tree!!”
One of the few undeniably true things about global warming is that concrete jungles (i.e., big cities—where Democrats predominate) are heat sinks that are a good bit hotter than surrounding rural areas. Trees would help mitigate that.
But, nooooooo....Plant more concrete.
“Volatile compounds” 🙄
Like flammable O2.
O2 is not a compound.
READ!: “We’re all for planting more trees. They bring so many good things,” said study coauthor Róisín Commane, an atmospheric chemist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
Yup.

Ah Yes... I can hear Joni Mitchell's voice now!
“Trees gotta go - “
Since you didn’t read your OP:

“We’re all for planting more trees. They bring so many good things,” said study coauthor Róisín Commane, an atmospheric chemist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. “But if we’re not careful, we could make air quality worse.”
