A massive drone attack walloped the military command center Russia is using to wage its war against Ukraine on Saturday.
The overnight barrage destroyed ammunition plants and fuel depots in Russia’s Belgorod, Kursk, and Rostov regions.
Among the successful targets was the Morozovsk airfield, where Russia keeps its fighter-bomber jets. The Russian airfield has played a crucial role in the Kremlin’s operations against Ukraine.
Some of Russia’s anti-aircraft defense systems were also disabled on Saturday by Ukrainian-launched missiles.
Russia also lost its B-237 Rostov-on-Don attack submarine, which was sunk Saturday outside Sevastopol in Ukrainian bomb strikes.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense noted on X the sub was now resting at “the bottom of the Black Sea.”

Sounds devastating, if true.
I believe improvements in internal combustion engine technology are the key technology which made the mechanized warfare of WW-2 through Ukrainian war possible.
Some new technology is needed to answer the stalemating effects of drones in order for humans to kill each other faster and in greater number.
Russian deployed for the first time in over two years, a heavy division of tanks and mech infantry. Russia is now conducting combat air patrols over the Black Sea; the fact Russia is now confronting US aircraft, drones and NATO aircraft to close NATO recon there. Ukraine is on their back heels all across the front lines. Ukraine makes a lot of news but these are pinpricks in the grand scheme.
A week ago Ukraine was cheering the 79th Brigade fight against a large Russia assault. Today the 79th is reduced to 50% combat effectiveness because Russia locked onto them. The 79th may escape with 20% of their forces as they are crushed and defeated and in retreat.
Russia has now shown Ukraine that once an assault begins they are going to destroy the defending units. This new phase of pushing out Ukrainian units who never retreat is now starting to have a profound effect on Ukrainian soldiers who are both undermanned, outgunned and poorly supplied.
Meanwhile the US attempt to over Maduro in VN has failed.
Russia has finally began drone production in July and they produce 4000 drones a day.
This is the answer to Ukrainian drone defensive operations. Russian drones are wrecking bradleys and ever other kind of vehicle by dozens per day the past few days. The war has entered a new phase, and China has halted their export of drones to Ukraine over a failure of US Diplomacy.
Putin stronk! Kharkiv in 3 days!
It sounds as if Russia is gaining battle-hardened troops out of Ukraine and contemporary battle experience. The Biden Cabal will make sure that the experience is with some of America’s more proficient hardware.
I could not understand Putin’s portrayal of Russia’s relationship with China as one of cozy comradery, in the interview he conducted with Tucker Carlson. This is after Russia suffered from the same China-released virus as the rest of the world. Now, I think that Putin was covering for a fear of China - perhaps a fear that motivates improved military capabilities.
Kiev is going to put all cities under Martial Law in an attempt to stop the citizens from destroying the military recruiter vehicles. Over 100 vehicles have been destroyed by Ukrainians trying to prevent their own mobilization.... Ukraine is coming internally collasping.
Kiev TONIGHT.
Ukraine ping
fso301: [The stalemating effects we are seeing with drones is similar to effects the machinegun and nitrated explosives had on warfare in WW-1.]
I once thought Ukraine’s focus on making gear for long range strike was perhaps misguided, given pressing issues re shell hunger, something Ukraine could easily ramp up domestically. Howitzer shells are something WWI powers each produced 100K of daily, albeit at great cost. The problem obviously anticipated by Ukrainian decision makers is that howitzers are easily destroyed by fairly cheap smart bombs delivered by Russian aircraft from ranges at which Ukrainian SAMs cannot shoot them down, thanks to Western restrictions on munitions supplied to Ukraine and where they’re allowed to target Russian planes with these munitions.
What Ukrainians have done to get past these restrictions is to roll their own long range strike capability. They could have improved their SAMs. But SAMs can’t hit Russian targets a thousand miles away. So they went with drones.
But there’s nothing particularly revolutionary about them except the fact that a fairly poor country is successfully employing them against a far richer one. They’re hillbilly cruise missiles. Ukraine has succeeded against Russia where Iran has failed against Israel because Ukrainians are way smarter than Iranians and, on the flip side, Israelis are way smarter than Russians.
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!(((PING!)))
Russia consolidated its territory gains in eastern Ukraine in July, taking control of almost 200 square kilometres (77 square miles), according to an AFP analysis on Wednesday.
Kyiv in 3 days!
“”””Meanwhile the US attempt to over Maduro in VN has failed.””””
Is Maduro holding onto power good for your side?
Thanks Zhang Fei.
If so, why are both sides burrowed into the ground like groundhogs?
It’s about Ukraine, a country with serious technological chops (manufacturer of Antonovs and a big part of the prewar Russian military supply chain) but very little money, wriggling out of its Western-imposed straitjacket to strike Russian targets a thousand miles behind the front lines.
Ok but that doesn't change the near stalemated location of the front lines.
Note that Iran hasn’t been able to inflict similar damage on Israeli targets via its proxies (Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah, Iraqi Hezbollah) despite vastly superior resources and tens of thousands of projectiles fired at Israel.
But that's comparing apples and oranges.
When I mentioned the effect drones were having, I primarily was thinking of the FPV drones and the way they have wreaked havoc along the front lines but the sea drones effectiveness give me pause to wonder if large naval vessels have become little more than floating coffins?
