The bill also declares that presidents, vice presidents, and former presidents and vice presidents “shall not be entitled to any form of immunity … from criminal prosecution for alleged violations of the criminal laws of the United States unless specified by Congress.”

A lot of stupidity in this VOX article. I just don't see how they can bring up such a serious change other than to drum up the election-year base. The only thing I'd worry about is if they had the WH & a 51 seat senate majority. I'm also concerned we don't play hardball the way they do. Thank God for the MTG's out there.

Idiotic, theatrics without a constitutional amendment.

That's already in the Constitution. It's call "Impeachment." If you want to prosecute someone for crimes in office, then have the nerve to convict them in the Senate.

If Schumer wants to remove immunity from the Executive, why doesn't he remove his own immunity in Congress, too?

Repeal Article I Section 6 Clause 2:

They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
Let's see how the Representatives and Senators do their jobs without their immunity protections. After all, if "nobody is above the law," that should include Congress, too.

If there is a political party which knows how to lose, it is the republicans. I am not optimistic about November. Maduro will be blushing.

Chucky want's to protect Dems and assumes the Dems will control congress forever. Also he wants to ignore that pesky ex post facto clause and prosecute Trump.

The irony is that progressives/leftists originally corrupted SCOTUS 60+ years ago, by turning it into another organ of centralized, top-down leftist social-engineering.

Didn’t see anything about the senate or congress in his No Kings Act in his bag of baloney sell.

A handy power grab for the Marxists indeed.

Election year BS. Some idiot leftist proposes the left’s wet dream of a bill, it gets voted down, and the politician then says “See, those dastardly Republicans stopped us again. You need to re-elect us with bigger margins so that we can get this done for you!”. (Knowing full well that if they were to GET those margins, they’d have to designate some dems to vote against it so that it STILL wouldn’t pass. DAMN! Stopped by Joe Manchin! etc.

how many staff members are Congressman and Senators allowed to have—-and why? We don’t even know who they are, but we know that lobbyists are writing some of the bills that Congress and Senators vote on. The least corrupt and corruptible branch of government is the Supreme Court. Schumer had no problem with threats and stalking judges in their own homes . It was not bribes that caused GOP judges to overturn Roe v Wade, but more likely it is bribes making Democrats fight for it. It was bad law, and attacks on the judges made them more likely to overturn Roe, not less likely. Schumer reaped his own whirlwind.

Necessary and Proper clause in regard to Alexander Hamilton's perverted cheerleading (Sweeping Clause), which created what people call the “Deep State”, will be celebrated by at least 3 Justices, maybe more (Blank sheet of paper chick) and that beer drinking yellow belly stereotypical frat guy. Point is this legislation the dems are conjuring up to circumvent Article III without Article V provisions has (Extremely thin) a chance with repub Pres. appoint Justices virtual signaling this.
