CHICAGO — Police are investigating two burglaries at high-end retailers along the Magnificent Mile overnight.
In a bold crime, two men broke through a wall to burglarize Saks Fifth Avenue, 700 North Michigan, shortly before 3 a.m. The store’s remote security team saw a man walking around the fifth floor with armloads of merchandise and notified Chicago police.
Cops eventually found a hole in the drywall on the fifth floor, according to a CPD report. The burglars escaped onto Michigan Avenue and got into a waiting vehicle moments before police arrived.
An officer who saw the surveillance video described the suspects as two young Hispanic men between 5’8″ and 6 feet tall. One wore black shorts, a black tank top, and a black mask. The other wore a gray tank top and gray shorts and had another shirt wrapped around his head.

The stuff will be fenced on the street for 5% of the Saks price—and they will still be overcharging.

I wonder how many businesses don’t have motion sensors and are ripe for someone simply punching through the sheetrock?
Nor will any be made. It's "reparations", don't you know?
I thought the “Miracle Mile” had pretty much closed down - like the once-thriving, high-end retail district in San Francisco (95 businesses closed due to rampant shoplifting and homeless living outside).
If not, won’t be long.
