Can anyone suggest an app to block unknown callers on my android phone please?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Don’t answer/reject the call
Open your Phone app .
Tap More .
Tap Settings. Blocked numbers.
Turn on Unknown.
I’ll just say don’t fall for the spam blocker software companies. They are mostly just junk. And they block calls you want to get too many times.
Truecaller
It works. I’ve had it for years.

Something tells me that there is a rash of Unknown Caller calls today. I have received 4 today alone. I accept the call, and they just hang up. I try to block, but this current version of Android works differently, and I cannot seem to block the calls. I am going to research this further, but would like any advice anyone might have regarding this. Good luck.
I did that.....they’re still coming through
Spam callers have so many numbers you just can’t block them all. My Verizon android phone does pick up some, labeled “potential spam”, but they still ring.
To block unknown callers on an Android phone, you can use the Block unknown callers feature in the Settings menu:
Open the Phone app
Tap the three dots at the top of the screen
Select Settings
Tap Block numbers
Toggle the Block unknown callers button to green
Are you sure that your really need your android phone?
People lived just fine for many decades before their advent.
Regards,
Do you really want to block the police when they try to call you if your wife or family member was just taken to the hospital ER?
Do you really want to block Publisher's Clearing House when they call you to inform you that you just won their million dollars?
Just don't answer the phone. If someone really wants to talk to you, they will leave a message. If a message isn't left and it's a number you don't recognize, just block it.
Smart phones aren't perfect, you just have to deal with the calls with the available tools you have.
I did that RB.....no joy...at least not as much as I should have 😏
That's what I do.
Yes, they are infernal contraptions aren’t they?
I get as many as 35 calls a day, spam calls, asking whether I want to make final arrangements for my solar panels that have been involved in an accident during the last two years.
By “unknown callers” do you mean their callerID is showing up as “unknown” ... or ... is it a valid phone number but just not one listed in your contacts?
Both really. Some display as “spam risk”.
From what people are saying I guess there’s no way to completely stop it.
I’ve been using the Mr. Number app for years. Works great. Will allow calls in your contacts list and filters other calls through it’s database of user reported numbers to block.
