It’s collusion between industry titans. Criticism is fair use. The only reason they are being taken down is because the media sites agree with the complaint and don’t care about the people making commentaries; or don’t care for their opinions. The copyright claims are very dubious and likely unenforceable but the commentators have no remedy in the law, so it’s easier to take them down and go along to get along.

There’s nothing for them to address. They’re not in charge. The IOC just lets the host country do whatever. And the network just shows it. No their yob mang.
The Olympics and NBC can’t take down fair use clips unless the platforms they are posted to do it.

Olympics and NBC...good luck with that. That garbage is all over Twitter. Practically every other comment in the main feed is how bad the Olympics is, along with accompanying vid and pics.
The opening ceremony is normally where the athletics get their one chance to be in the spotlight as they parade in from of the world, however in this case the parade (boat ride) was just noise in the background as France celebrated the MESSAGE.
