FARGO, Ga. — Amazing video shows what looks like hundreds of alligators congregating in the Okefenokee Swamp in south Georgia.

The video, shared by Marty Welch via ABC News, shows the perspective from a motorboat as a man tries to navigate his way through the water

“There’s gators everywhere,” he says. “They’re laying on the banks. You might want to sit down!”

The gators appear unphased by their visitor.

“I would be panicking! Imagine that boat flips over. Instantly you will become a happy meal!” one Facebook user wrote.

The Okefenokee is known for its abundance of amphibians and reptiles including American alligators. The Swamp is a 438,000-acre protected wetland with several canals that run through it.

I went and visited that swamp almost 20 years ago. Our boat got swarmed as well with about 40 gators. They were mostly around 3 to 6 foot long. My ex-wife was freaking out. I pollinated out that they were pretty small and had never heard of them climbing into a boat. I am sure they are bigger now.

Alligators are cannibalistic.

The bigger gators will attack and eat the smaller ones.

Most will not survive an attack and those that do will have missing limbs or tails. And they probably won’t survive long.

Over time the population will stabilize and the Law of The Jungle will rule........................

Probably one of the gators slapping it’s tail either against the boat or in the water.

When it comes to alligators...the tail can be about as dangerous as the mouth

This is the Okeefenokee Swamp, a National Park and the gators are protected species.

This is what happens when you don’t allow hunting and trapping.

Used to live near there. My mother-in-law still does. Have relatives all over that area....................

Yikes! It scared me, and I wasn’t even there. And then he told someone to sit down (his mom?!). I wouldn’t be standing in the first place. Those people out there are tough.
