(I don't know what he said at the end of that sentence. i don't think he knows what he said either)

It’s clear that some people have a natural affinity for some of these “tests”; one might more accurately call them word games. There has always been a huge variance in how we do on them.
Take Wordle for example. Some people slam that consistently. The people who don’t are not wired that way. That’s not early dementia.
The best way to remember anything for most of us is to stop trying to remember it. Things I couldn’t remember earlier often come to me in the shower. Does soap stimulate brain function? Hmm

I know a guy that is probably a genius and he hardly ever explains something off the cuff without missing a few words that instead become thingies.

As Jake said in Sweet Home Alabama: "Honey, just 'cause I talk slow doesn't mean I'm stupid".

It’s pretty frightening. My written/oral skills have always hovered around the 96th - 98th percentile, but in the last couple of years, I sometimes struggle to find a word or put a name to a famous face or situation. Not more than the average person, but a decline in me.

That’s interesting; I wasn’t aware of that. I will try it the next time I can’t bring the word up. (If I can remember to do so!)

Not everyone runs around emitting continous high speed blather.

You can probably do it without the ‘knock’. The knock just seems to reinforce the suggestion you give to yourself. Someone else here said that the word just floats up later; but I’m so used to the ‘knock’ that I keep doing it :-)

I’ve often thought I do my best thinking in the shower. I don’t think it has anything to do with soap.

Same here. I can form the answer in my mind but getting it out is slower than I used to be...............
