Again I have no idea what high powered means. I know force, it can be measured as mass times acceleration. I know velocity. It is a measurement of the time it takes something to move between two fixed points. In my competition shooting circles “power” has no meaning. In my hunting circles a .223 is considered very “under powered” (meaning stopping force) for any game deer sized or larger.

Above is an hour long interview with Tim Kennedy former(?) MMA fighter, sniper & sniper instructor Tim Kennedy. (I had to look that up.) He makes a lot of good points about the assassination attempt and SS failures. Some are obvious, some I’m not so sure about.
Towards the end he is asked if the round hit Trump or passed nearby and damaged the ear. He said the round was probably a .223. It would have had to hit the ear.
He said a .50 caliber CAN do damage due to the shock wave that is around the bullet. Makes sense, but I had no idea.

In the other video he shot the .50 slightly above the surface of a pond and between closely spaced columns of crystal wine glasses. If a near miss could have caused any damage at all, then surely it should have shattered the crystal, or at leased caused the water to ripple. But it did neither.
It's also obvious that if a shock wave were that powerful, the bullet's BC @ supersonic velocities would be crappy and it would hemorrhage velocity as it flew downrange. When the truth is BC tends to be higher the faster the bullet is traveling.
