I and about all of us grew up with RNC/DNC week going like this (pre-covid anyway)
Monday: Keynote speech and other speeches
Tuesday: More speeches
Wednesday: Roll call of states to rubber stamp the nominee, plus VP nominee acceptance speech
Thursday: POTUS nominee acceptance speech, POTUS/VP nominees and their spouses and families join other biggestwigs on stage to cheers as balloons and confetti fall around them and the party parties
This year the roll call was on Monday afternoon. Now I didn't follow the covid conventions in 2020 so I can't comment on that year's procedures but why was the roll call yesterday rather than Wednesday?
One reason is because once Trump becomes the official candidate he gets a whole lot more SS protection.
I am glad they did it.
Once he is the nomimee, a crazy person shooting him would make Vance the nominee. This also explains why Trump chose Vance. From now on even if they shoot Trump they don’t stop MAGA.
Like it or not, Trump is under duress. He needs his family right now. What a wonderful family...every one of them.

My guess is that since there is no longer a contest for the nomination, getting Trump nominated first is a way to shut down even nominal opposition that could provide the basis for negative media coverage. That in turn gives several days to showcase the Trump and GOP agenda in detail.

I watched Don Jr’s face when his Dad walked out onto the floor last night. Don Jr was tearing up and such love for the Father he almost lost forever a couple days ago. He knows how hard his father works.
One thing we can say about Trump is that he raised his children well and they all love him. So do his grandkids. He is very good with children. Treats them like little people.
Trump’s kids aren’t drug addled perverts who engage in illegal and immoral activity.
I like Rockingham’s comment #6. Another possibility is this time the RNC has more leaders coming from Trump. And with all the media hype of RNC delegates switching votes away from “convict Trump” and such, it might have been seen as best to nip that in the bud and make the nomination official as soon as the convention started.
Trump’s message to the Deep State. JD Vance is now locked in as the VP candidate. Another assassination attempt on Trump is only going to result in Vance. The RINO’s will not be able to parachute Deep State loving RINO Nikki Haley in Trump’s place like they were planning.

I am sure it was definitely a good reason to consider moving it up. I heard people saying that he had all guys as his SS detail last night.
Don’t know how true that is though.
Lower the stress level for everyone and gain the SS protection afforded to both Pres and VP families.
I think you can bet on it.
