I bought a ticket to see them. Four weeks before the concert, Bonham died.
People who allege “every single one of their songs is stolen” are the same who claim Trump is a threat to democracy....
Yep, John Paul Jones, was the George Harrison of Led Zeppelin.
Bull$}{!T !!!
IIRC in 7th Grade English class I wrote a paper about Led Zeppelin and the teacher deducted points for Misspelling LED ZEPPELIN. I had to bring it several Albums (Now Antiquated Vinyl Records) and show them to her to get My Points back. It was only a few Points but that was enough to get Me a Passing Grade on the Paper and the Course for that Grade Period.
More important to Me was proving that Teacher that I WAS RIGHT !!!
I saw them in Houston, 3rd Concert I ever went too. Paid $10.00 (Face Value was $7.50) a Ticket Scalper. Pink Floyd- Animals was 2nd, Doobie Brothers was the 1st.
Me neither. I was only 12 the last time LZ toured the states in ‘77 and they were banned in Boston so the closest place to see them was Madison Square Garden.
Funny you mention George...I’m a life long beatles fan but I’m only recently realizing how sublime George’s harmonies are. I mean, of course I knew he was important vocally but he wasn’t just a guy with an “ok voice”.
I was there too, in Blue Heaven. First concert ever for me. I was 17.
Teachers don’t like that which is why I was glad to be home skould.
I was 13YO and i was sitting 10th row center...
Ticket prices were so low back then for the greatest bands.
Now, people pay hundreds to see Taylor Swift. I’ll never understand it.
Always my favorite LZ LP
Not my fav compared to what followed but it was indeed special. I can still recall exactly what it was like to hear that 1st LZ album for the 1st time. Opening song of good times bad times. It’s like it happened yesterday.
So the 1st album was more imprinted in my memory for some reason.
That is B.S. Trump has nothing to do with LZ. And most of their fans are Democrats.
LOL- most Zeppelin fans are democrats???
That’s the same as those who allege all Trump supporters are racist...but keep digging your hole deeper...
like i said- saw them opening night at Madison Square Garden, 6/7/1977....10th row center...
Ticket price?? $10.50
“Let’s face it, their best work was when some of them were playing for Donovan. “
Yeh- and joe biden lowered inflation...
They probably didn't steal every song, but they plagiarized quite a few. LZ was my favorite band. Then, by chance, I heard one old blues and one folk song with LZ lyrics on a college radio station. Later, other people found other songs. So disappointing...
But, back then, many bands played covers we didn't know were covers, and the Brits loved American blues. It ticked me off that LZ repackaged some old American music and sold it to us as theirs.
But, they put out so much other great music. As for the covers, I got to hear the original artists, who I never would've heard about otherwise. (I hope they eventually were compensated.)
Physical Graffiti gets my vote for LZ's best album.
Lucky you! I was 15 when I bought a ticket to see them in 1980, but, of course, that concert was cancelled.
If you guys ever get elected you can ban the Beach Boys, the Doors, Marvin Gaye, Sly & the Family Stone, Otis Redding, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Gene Krupa, Connee Boswell, Hank Williams, Chuck Berry and all those other musicians you say makes you a terrible person to like!
