Marie-Antoinette (born November 2, 1755, Vienna, Austria—died October 16, 1793, Paris, France) was the Austrian queen consort of King Louis XVI of France (1774–93). Her name is associated with the decline in the moral authority of the French monarchy in the closing years of the ancien régime, though her courtly extravagance was but a minor cause of the financial disorders of the French state in that period.

Is "Dr." Jill Biden the neo Marie Antoinette of the 21st century? Let the peasants eat cake.
She was largely the victim of lies told by the revolutionaries, including the cake line.
jill should have greater respect for the little people who potentially could make it hard to move the head due to “Traumatic Disconnect Syndrome” of the neck. notice the similarities between TDS and TDS.
perhaps you could elucidate on the misperceptions of her “Traumatic Disconnect Syndrome”. did she or did she not Lord her position in the aristocracy over the heads of the peasant class?
There were numerous pamphlets lying about her having affairs and filthy sexual behaviour.
She never said “Let them eat cake.”
Yes, the aristocracy was positioned above the peasant class. Then when the revolutionaries took over, they desecrated the Cathedral, slaughtered priests, and beheaded nuns.
She never committed a beheading offense, and she accepted her fate bravely.
Meh... pass.
At least she didn’t look like the piss boy like her husband did.
Louis XVI was the king of France in 1789.
He was worse thn Louis XV;
He was worse than Louis XIV;
He wa worse than Louis XIII;
He was the worst since Louis I!
“sources vary” applies but since neither us were there, we can agree to disagree. in any event, she lost her head literally while Jill will probably only lose hers figuratively. go figure.

Great movie, I’m gonna watch it later on.
This has the scene I was refencing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OWMB3ewpNM
I’m glad you said that. Theirs was a tragedy, the people were the monsters and exhibited barbaric cruelty to that family. Frances problems did not originate with Louis and Marie.
It’s good to be the king
Even before the Revolution started, she was very unpopular. The nobles at Versailles hated her and spread scandalous stories about her (most of them probably completely invented). That she was Austrian did not help—the recent war in which France had been an ally of Austria had ended with defeat for France.
And just when Madame Defarge finished knitting her a hat and scarf.
Jefferson did not have a favorable view of Napoleon, at least in his later years.
The XYZ Affair led to the Quasi-War with France. When Adams saw a chance to make peace with France in 1800, he did so, which may have deprived him of victory in the 1800 election, but he did what was right for the country.
I love his Domestic Policy. But his foriegn policy was wrong. Adams did a good job charting a non- involved course.
The French queen, murdered by leftists, was frugal in her personal life. Even if chumps through the centuries have fallen for the revolutionary narrative.
