In 1800 a lot of Federalists were terrified by the idea that Jefferson might become President--they expected him to enact measures like those of Revolutionary France.

Jefferson did not have a favorable view of Napoleon, at least in his later years.

I love his Domestic Policy. But his foriegn policy was wrong. Adams did a good job charting a non- involved course.
