The presidential debate was awful for Joe Biden, but the cover-up has been worse. It was agony to watch a befuddled old man struggling to recall words and facts. His inability to land an argument against a weak opponent was dispiriting. But the operation by his campaign to deny what tens of millions of Americans saw with their own eyes is more toxic than either, because its dishonesty provokes contempt.

Re: 13 - the point is to be able to practice the art of discernment. People that are adept at discernment can look through / beyond the article and perhaps gain new insight.

Probably not known widely is that The Economist was since 2022 writing that Biden should not run for reelection. Why? Well, discernment helps to answer that question.

“The third paragraph starts out that Biden needs to be remembered for his accomplishments and decency...”

Joe spent 50 years enriching himself and his family with other people’s money. That’s his major accomplishment, and as far as his decency goes, his conduct speaks for itself.

The subject of the article was Biden’s health and mental status. However, about half the article was a hit piece on Republicans and Trump. Back in the 70s I was a great fan of The Economist. It was once real journalism that was not agenda driven. It sadly has become leftist and is no longer a great publication.

“His inability to land an argument against a weak opponent“

Are ANY of these people auditing REALITY? They believe whatever they need or want to believe. Donald Trump has deflected their unprecedented and often illegal attacks and been otherwise kicking their asses in most ways that can be measured. Why can’t they admit that they’re up against a formidable foe?

Mr. Biden deserves to be remembered for his accomplishments and his decency.

Are you kidding me? The Economist's editorial board should burn in hell for eternity. All the EO's the racist Biden signed the day of his inauguration, opening up the US border to criminals and rapists from every prison in every third-world shithole country on earth, and then prohibiting the US from accessing its own God-given carbon-based petroleum reserves. And then billions of US taxpayers dollars gifted to the "death to America" Iranian mullahs and to the Ukrainian grifter Zelenskye. And now he wants to give Gazans free entry to the US.

Yeah. Joseph Robin'It Biden is a decent man.

This supposed president (bye-done) is almost on vacay a few days each week. He takes naps. His useless staff “puts a lid” on his dau frequently...and is experiencing dementia. Also he is a pedppervent. I guess some overlook all that
